On behalf of expertvillage.com my name is Ray Boone and I run the Ray Boone Golf Academy
at the beautiful Miami Beach Golf Club. Today I'd like to present to you the basics of short
game. Okay we got the really good player here, he's going to really get good at hitting this
high flop shot. I want to show you some really important points for the really good golfer.
Number one when they take the club back, they need to have this wrist dangle in their wrist.
Their right wrist has to be bent backwards, so meaning their cocking their wrist very
early on this shot and they have to maintain that shot as they're coming down, but then
they have to release the club and they want to feel like they're actually cupping the
left wrist through impact. So if you look on this angle you're going to see a little
different action through the golf ball. So we're going to swing through it, the wrists
are going to release and they're going to be cupping the left wrist which keeps the
club face open. So I'm not rolling the hands over like I would to hit a draw if I were
hitting a normal shot. Here I want the face open, I'm going to keep it open, but I'm still
releasing the club. So the club is released there, it's passing my hands, but my left
wrist is cupping there and that's going to give you more spin.
