On June 8th 2012, Devon International Group (DIG) held the grand opening ceremony of
Devon Medical Products (Nantong) in Su-Tong Science and Technology Park in China.
The Deputy Mayor of Nantong, Guohua Zhang, officially met
with John Bennett, CEO of DIG, and his executive team at City Hall.
Devon International Group is a multinational group of companies founded in 2004.
Besides medical products, DIG also has businesses in Healthcare, IT,
and International trading of innovative and cost-effective products.
DIG is headquartered in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania and maintains
offices in U.K, Ireland, India, Lithuania, and China (Beijing and Shanghai).
In total, DIG invested 23.75 million dollars on this project to establish Devon Medical Products’ R and D center
as well as the manufacturing plants. The annual sales is predicted to reach 50 million RMB (~8M US dollars).
The grand opening of DMP (Nantong) successfully represented the official initiation
of the medical equipments and devices division in Su-Tong Science and Technology Park and it also
set up a good model and provided with experiences for other similar companies to incorporate in the future in Nantong.
Medical devices is a rapidly growing and highly regulated industry
that requires very sophisticated management in R and D, finance, and administration.
Nantong is dedicated to offering competitive resources and regulations to attract more investments.
John Bennett commented that the establishment of DMP (Nantong) is a strategically important step
for the entire Devon International Group and we are looking forward to the collaborations
with the universities, medical centers, and other medical products companies in Nantong in the future.
CEO Bennett also expected the Nantong government to continue the support for the development of DIG and eventually achieve mutual success.
