What it attracts me and keeps me very close to Hizmet Movement. Because they work under
the Turkish flag. They don't have their own Hizmet flag like the other parties to hang
it next to the Turkish Flag. That means they are working for their country and for the
whole ummah and for the all human being.
My name is Omer. I am American-Syrian nationalities. I have been in the US since 1998. I am a business
owner. I know Hizmet almost three years ago. First of all, Bismillahirrahmanirrahim es-salatu
Why I said en-nuril halid. This is the title of the sheikh and Ustad Muhammed Fethullah
Gulen in his book Muhammedur Rasulillah en-nuril Halid. The infinite light after the Day of
Judgment insaallah. I know Hizmet Movement which is really a unique movement compared
to other movements up to my knowledge. Since I met them almost three years ago, what I
can address they are unique again and also through my activities with them by attending
Friday prayer or another Islamic holidays actually I feel the sincerity. I feel what
they are doing that for the others not for themselves and also serving their community
and other communities in sincere way and for the sake of Allah.
What I see they are representing Islam in a moderate way. They are applying the teachings
of the Prophet Muhammad sav. When Allah said in the Quran (Euzu Besmele) Wama arsalnaka
illa rahmatan lil Aalameen This is the way of the sheikh Fethullah Gulen and his followers.
They are doing it in a gentle and a merciful way.
I agree with dialogue with non-Muslims because by doing that we are following the teachings
of the Quran when Allah said in the Quran to the Prophet Muhammad sav el nuril halid
"ve câdilhum billetî hiye ahsen" But for me I have here just to say something about
interfaith. For me I don't believe in the interfaith but I can see multifaith. Because
Allah said in the Quran too “Lekum dinukum veli yedin”. It is not just one din. To
mix the faith of Christianity with the faith of the Muslims. There is multifaith not just
interfaith. I think the sheikh Fethullah Gulen. he knows that very well. I don't know if the
agreed with the word interfaith. Most likely this is my opinion. There is multi faith but
not interfaith. But I am with dialogue with non-Muslims. Even the one who doesn’t any
religions. We have to have a dialogue with them in the best manners. "ve câdilhum billetî
hiye ahsen" What I see as I said just those schools even
when I visit Turkey three times for the last three years helping the Syrian refugee in
the south of Turkey. The Turkish people in general, they have to be proud of those good
institutions, excellent institutions like the schools, the hospitals not just in Turkey.
I was surprised with those also the TV channels, Kimse Yok Mu and also el-Fetih College.
It's really really..Those institutions are very academic and also by following some of the
Turkish channel also I see those schools are around the world. What I see in those schools
they are teaching science and maybe also Turkish language and also for the Muslims I think
there is Islamic teachings in those schools. But anyway it's a great idea whatever they
are doing far away from their country, which is really hard to find in another movement
doing the same. I met the businessman in the second trip to Turkey. The first thing he
mentioned he's going to establish a school in Africa not another summerhouse or another
castle or another business. He was thinking to establish a school to benefit the needy
people even in Africa. They put their own lives at risk. Like in Nigeria now. They have
a school there. They have a school and hospitals in Somalia. You see how they are sacrificing
their lives the movement followers just to give the benefit for another nation. It doesn't
matter as I said in the beginning, Muslims or non-Muslims.
What it attracts me and keeps me very close to Hizmet Movement. Because they work under
the Turkish flag. They don't have their own Hizmet flag like the other parties to hang
it next to the Turkish flag. That means they are working for their country and for the
whole ummah and for the all human being. And they are moderate. The ones who are accusing
them these days are trying to create problem to keep their power by creating problems or
a deep government parallel to their government, they have to be fair with themselves. What
I can say in Arabic ……. "Is this is the way how to treat your leaders and your scholars
with this bad way? Is this is the way of Islamic teaching to accuse like sheyhuna ve ustaduna
Sheikh Fethullah Gulen and to get him to justice to Turkey. What did he do? What did he do?
And also some people are saying "Come to Turkey and create your party,"……. like a subyani
way, in a childish way. "Come to Turkey and create your party and compete with us." Sheikh
Fethullah Gulen is higher than that level. He doesn't compete with anybody.
What sheikh Fethullah Gulen will leave behind him as Sheikh Said Nursi and all over the
world those sincere scholars, they will leave knowledge and sadaka-I cariye, continuous
charity behind him according to Prophet Muhammad SAV. But those the one in government.. How
many people will remember them after they die? Just tell me. Those who consider themselves
leaders. How many people will read Fatiha for them after they die. But I think sheikh
Said Nursi and other sincere scholars.. All the people in any gathering on Friday are
always making dua for them. And those who is in power start acting arrogant the people
after they die. They will never ever I think just a few will remember them. This is the
big difference between the zahid Sheikh Fethullah Gulen and his followers and the other people
who are trying just to destroy that movement because of their prestige life and just to
keep that power on their hand.
I think the Hizmet schools around the world, in 160 countries, are making an important
contribution to democracy, simply by virtue of their existence, by virtue of the training
and educating of thousands of students who would not be the recipients of a modern education
and a religious education had those schools not existed.
I doubt sheikh Fethullah Gulen will leave anything behind him just knowledge and charity
and a generation of followers just to follow his footsteps the same as he followed the
footsteps of sheikh Bediuzzaman Said Nursi.
