The Interior Minister should investigate and issue a statement
otherwise he'll turn us all into terrorists.
We're Upper Egyptians and we won't let him get away with this.
Nor a policeman, nor an officer, nor the army—no-one.
We support Sisi and our country heart and soul.
But we won't give up our rights!
Listen, gentlemen, listen.
Bear with me while I explain.
If he gets accused of being a terrorist
or those with him accuse him of being a terrorist
then you can hold me responsible.
I got a call from my hometown
saying one of ours had been shot near the police station.
I was told to go check what happened so I went
I found the minibus had mounted the pavement
he'd been shot in the neck
and there were police surrounding him.
The guy was trying to earn a living
He goes out at dawn and loads up with bread in Beni Soueif.
He transports people here from places in the countryside
people who work in factories and so on.
He transports people from his town.
He didn’t know this road was closed
When the police close a road they mark it with stones this small.
Nobody can see them so nobody realises the road is closed.
So he took that road, not knowing.
So they just shoot at people randomly?
Yes, yes.
No! Not randomly. They meant to shoot him.
They could have shot at the van or tyres but they went straight for the neck!
They said they fired at the tyres but that's not true.
There are no bullets in the tyres. The tyres burst when they hit the pavement.
When he was shot he lost control and crashed into the pavement.
That’s all. None of the tyres were shot. Categorically.
It was bread.
Dried bread, made in Upper Egypt.
He used to transport it on top of the minibus.
They claimed it was explosives or God knows what.
And the TV channels repeat these lies!
... an explosion. Again, a suspicious vehicle was found going at an alarming speed
and it turned out the vehicle was carrying explosives.
Exactly, Ma'am. Incidents like this force us to react in this way.
It’s your right to do so, Sir.
Look, the shot went through here.
Since June 30th we’ve been saying we support Sisi
and the country, and the police, everything,
I myself went to protect the police station in 6 October.
I took my car and some of my cousins, these guys here
and we went to guard the station.
So I guard the prison with the police and security officers
and then my cousin gets shot
just because he comes from Beni Soueif and doesn't know the area
doesn't know which roads are one way and so on.
You shoot people this easily?
- That won’t do, young man! - You just shoot straight off?
- In our place you'd do the same. - No chance!
... to see if it contained explosives
so we wouldn't be nearby if it exploded
the outcome was negative...
meaning there were no explosives.
