Hello ladies and gentlemen my name is Lorenzo and I like to hurt myself
playing old and complex videogames.
This particularly is called "Mace of the Dark Age".
It came out for the Nintendo 64 sometime after the year two thousand.
Produced by Midway, the same software house that made "Mortal Kombat", this game shares a
lot of things with that uh... except this one is uh... bad, yeah, almost as bad
as the unholy "Mortal Kombat 4".
At first you're presented with a very long story you and I are not going to read
uh... actually, I'll speed it up for you.
There are twelve characters you can choose from, I'll just give you a
brief overview of them since they're pretty much all the same.
"Executioner", who for some reason has a green projectile
"Ragnar", the perfect stereotype of the Viking
"Taria"
like Xena on steroids
"Takeshi", who despite his armor is a really bad warrior
"Xiao Long"
just a chinese guy really, and
"Dragan" the skeleton with the stupidest winning celebration of all time.
Generally you can apply the famous rule
"Whoever has the longest weapon wins".
This applies in real life too. After every round won there's a smooth replay feature
that allows you to accurately check how you destroyed your enemy. And after that, a winning
animation.
Don't worry, you can skip all of this just by pressing the "Start" button repeatedly
actually after a while I found out I could also skip what I thought were loading screens
Sometimes the controls can just be crap.
Other than that though,
If you're playing by yourself the game gets boring and difficult after the fourth or fifth battle in a row
With another player though, this game just gives the best out of itself.
To beat your friends I strongly recommended to use Taria to humiliate
your enemy until he'll leave your house.
Overall, this game is fun.
It has some stupid issues of course but
it's fun with friends. I give it a seven point three two one five seven in an
one out of ten fun factor and... that was not a random number, there's an algorithm behind it.
So, this was my quick review of "Mace the Dark Age",
I hope I'll see you soon and
have a wonderful day i will leave you with some
footage from the game
if you really wanna check it out
else just close your tab and go back to... Bye, have a wonderful day!
