Fleur de Corail by Lolita Lempicka is a kicky little number. It starts with a poof of citrus
freshness. Then it pulls the old switcheroo and hunkers down into spicy woods and a salty
hint of tropical flowers.
Its a hot, thick smell, but not the kind you need to wait for winter to wear. In fact,
winter would be all wrong. This eau de parfum conjures up a humid night on a summer beach,
with the driftwood bonfire making your skin shine in the heat. A suspicion of vanilla
floats through - did someone drop their toasted marshmallow in the bonfire? And then, thar
she blows: Nag Champa, the Indian incense thats fruitily herbal a bit like sarsaparilla.
I love the smell of Nag Champa, and its an unusual note in perfume. Its smoky dryness
cuts the sweetness of the rest of Fleur de Corail, and toughens it up a bit. At the tail
end of the scent, theres a resemblance to Bulgari Black, with its hot vanilla-rubber
vibe. Fleur de Corail references nature without smelling at all natural. And thats part of
the come-on. This one would work really well for guys, too. Im Katie Puckrik, and I smell.
