how everybody this is Brittany Murphy and you are now
part of an adventure which is basically a behind-the-scenes look
at Uptown Girls
one of the things that i think is is interesting about
the movie actually and is a little unusual is that
it's not really a love story in the typical sense it starts out with molly
attaching herself emotionally to this guy that that she seduces into her life
chocolate milk box
you plan to get it done
what you think is going to be romantic comedy actually ends up being something
completely different
it's it's not a love story between molly in this guy, it's actually a story about
friendship between molly and this little girl
and the relationship with the guy is almost like a red herring like it's
what molly shouldn't be focusing on
she realizes that part way through the film you know and describing
characters right
and have a difficult time
it's as if describing yourself
we see this three different versions the one you read, when you perform and become for few months and then, the final product
They're so very different
if it takes a little while
step back and look it
objectively and look it the character objectively
The character of Molly is a very extreme kind of a character i've always seen it like you
need it some indicate that she will who's still fall statements of her thing
that may be quite as over at the top
with that level of
physicality in the real, she really has to be this force that kind of
positive element
there's there's very few actresses that really have that kind of
energy
and vitality and
and ability to pull all that kind of thing off
one of the reasons why
I wanted to be part of this is because
i felt that very kindred spirit
in molly. and definitely wanted to do something that's just a purely instinctively means
just said
I don't know, is how i am and it's something that for some reason incidents
and stuff and so instantly
speaks of vietnam are less that part of my youth grammar
ok Ray, I'm Molly
remember we met at my birthday party? Dakota was the first person and
signed on to the movies she actually got the movie made
and at the time i thought it was kind of funny until i saw her start working
what i loved about Boaz[the director] was he was really open to my ideas, he really
want admit
what now what are your ideas, he tell me his ideas and he was open
to that
and and that was that some great about him... she approaches things from
the point of view of character
and solely for the point of view of character and you can have discussions with
her about character and what a character should and shouldn't be doing
as if you're talking to a forty-year-old
doing ballet on front of a live audience was actually
kind of that never happened and i was sort of used to do it, cause i done ballet
effects before and now waiting for
two hundred people around you watching you so i was sort of used to
it
well Dakota is quite ham so we will take
fabulous s photoshoot in the makeup trailer
i love her
love her
she's a force of nature when we were in new york there was paparazzis
all around because they can't control them there
so we're in the middle of the scene
and their yelling Britttany, Brittany
over here... Dakota, Dakota
and of course you can't look over and were like what is that? why this people
what is that?
why these people yelling, why they yelling my name and i looked over and they' going
hi, how are you today?
hi
is disks of pricing lee hart
to find
the young man who was attractive and had charisma
but that was relaxed about it
comfortable sense of of his own masculinity and of his own identity and
i think that's the best thing about jess is that
sounds very young disarray comfortable with ourselves
may convert being australian out-and-out intend to do better with that
and we do here
he kept it simple and clear an honest and i think that's really what apart
demanded and he did a great job
my character you folks really jumped out cassini's if you go to the pop music
playing in
uh... actors who is one of the musicians musicians eliza reactions uh... use
*** very driven congress going you he wanted and they just seem to really
struck a chord in me and uh... i really want to play it
noah's campaign
and i think here is a stepping stone
helping molly discovered that she didn't need
among her life to be hope and that perhaps at least allot health care for
her to or for yourself
so that she was able to keep to herself before she could get to have to decide
this issue give a whole heck of a lot more to others
if she that her own style
she wasn't doing anything fell
veterans he and his burning
alone declined
guy
misplaced is beyond its normal protest discuss nuclear and knew i had to have
marlys ingrid
just has
the combination of sensitivity
and high strung this and was it's just really a very good actress she can
really do a lot para-sailing chanted by
just their wings that call stay retail
aspect of the story and that it was a comedy and yet
had so much
an additional picture attached and i think that's been the goal with this
whole movie is to try to tell a comedy without sacrificing style marley shelton
act and i have had this
sort of not friendship friendship for years read big ran into each other
every single interview streamlines the
have a family member she's actually she looks like my mom to be there sitting at
a rising
sixty repeated on pain she's now become one
parents in mind when she finishes
really sheila always hopefully
will be able to contain
awkward
prabhu eighty years old out of court talked about life
is she's silly dear to me
and really became close transforming
chocolate
bikini part was actually originally written a little bit more edgy a little
bit less likable
but i knew that unless there was someone in there that was just
charming and fund and actually
represented the party
that you wouldn't understand this other side of the majlis life is about getting
about donald is that quiznos walk on screen and he is the party you need to

a plane crash in our economy

to the test thais in chinatown badly squealing everyday like a fish
becuase like the detail for the tlf always go ahead
but it was really nice
when people talk about some of the style of that
really tried to go for a very elegant
fluid
flowing style with a lot of
reflection shots a lot of shots that
will have two minutes and one tape without a cut
combined with shots that have a lot of cutting to get a different kind of
random
that i was very influenced by pulling a sort of like michael in school
police is working so beautiful i'd tour like cheese comes in

one of the things they respect most about hints that he had such a very
precise clear vision
