almonds provide heat to the body so we avoid them during summers.
but almonds give coolness as well as energy if soakedovernight in water, peeled, grinded in the morning and mixed with milk.
today we will prepare chilled badam doodh.
ingredients required:
milk - 3 cups
ice cubes - 2 cups
sugar - 1/4 cup
alomonds- 20 - 22 (soaked overnight)
cardamom - 4 (small)
pistachios - 4 -5
saffron threads - 8-10 (optional)
firstly we will peel the almonds to make badam doodh.
it is very easy to peel soaked almonds,just use a knife for help and the skin will come off instantly.
similarly peel all of the almonds.
almonds are peeled we have to peel cardamom as well but first chop the pistachios into small this.
these pistachios will be used as garnish.
don't wory if pistachios are not available. they are not essential.
now we will grind almonds and sugar in mixer.
put sugar,almonds,saffron,peeled cardamom with some milk (to grind them easliy)in a mixer.
make a fine paste.
add half of the ice cubes to this paste and grind one more time.
all of the ingredients have been thoroughly mixed.
chilled badam doodh is ready to store.
pour milk in glasses and garnish with 3-4 pisatchios.
we have prepared chilled badam doodh which is very easy to make.
there are no difficult steps.
if you prefer less sweet then reduce the amount of sugar.
if you dont want any ice then there is no need to put ice cubes instead use plain water.
else if you want badam doodh comprised of only milk then you can do so.
badam doodh can be made in the way that you like best.
