My name's Mark Emsley, I've just completed the Master of Business Information Technology
course last year in 2012. I chose to do the Master in Business IT for the opportunity
to move ahead. Why RMIT? The university location is perfect for someone who works in the CBD.
The university's renowned within the industry, I respect the lecturers that come from a basis
of skill and you can see that in the way the present the course back to the students who
get a lot out of the learning from RMIT as well. So if I have future masters courses,
which I'm doing at the moment which is the Master of Commerce then I would continue to
look at RMIT. As a person with a business background you realise that the involvement
of IT in the business world is dominating therefore having a business background is
only the first step of having a solid education for the current climate. I needed to get that
formal IT education however it needed to be bridging my business background therefore
I did the Master of Business in Information Technology. It was definitely one of the best
choices I've ever made because I got the education that I needed, I made more connections than
I could think of and even that academic that I met on the Open Day is actually an ongoing
connection for me right now, we have that sort of relationship. So it has been above
and beyond, the academic staff, how wonderful they were has been a revelation.
