Hello, it’s nice that you tuned into thuskochtour again.
Today I want to show you a delicious recipe: chicken with curry and coconutmilk „Ca Ri Ga“.
This dish comes from India but was varied in Vietnam, this way this recipe became a popular dish in Vietnam.
And now I show you the ingredients, and what you need.
1kg potatoes (I already cleaned them)
1kg chicken leg (cut it in small pieces)
400ml coconut milk
Some ginger (cut it in thin stripes)
2tsp curry powder
1tsp salt
1tsp sugar
½ tsp pepper
1 onion (cut it in thin stripes)
2tsp tomato puree
First mix together the chicken pieces with the curry powder, salt, pepper, ginger and tomato puree and lay it aside.
Then cut the potatoes into pieces.
Now put the potatoes into a pan with oil and roast them gently until brownish.
After that take them out and roast the onion until vitreous.
Roast the chicken in a pot with some oil and then add approx. 1 litre of water, so the chicken is completely covered in water and let it simmer.
Remove the foam every now and then.
Then add the onion and let it simmer for approx. 20min.
After 20 min add the potatoes and let it simmer for another 20min.
Finally add the coconut milk and let it simmer for approx. 2min.
Add 1 1/2tsp salt, 1/2tsp pepper and 1tsp sugar
You can perfectly serve rice noodles or baguette with this dish.
