That's how GRAFFALIFE started.
I finally decided to create my own business by editing books.
I finally decided to create my own business by editing books.
And finally it never happens.
and asked me to edit a book.
Maybe I hoped that someone came to me and tell me I had crazy pictures
and uploaded pictures on it.
I've started my blog just after FUZI's one,
and there was a lot of book released.
And during all the 2000's I had all these pictures
I started trooping up and down the lines and tunnels to “save” them.
were going to disappear.
I started to realize that many tags and graffiti that I had seen in my childhood
At the end of the 90’s,
My aim is to share and to save those archives.
Why am I writing this book?
I have no idea. Is there any logic behind it? I don’t know.
Why this line especially ?
Many groups joined the line at the same moment to generate this New-York effect.
and others coming from nowhere created a competition in a good way.
Moreover some younger crews like the VF
then other people like me joined it.
some groups were living on this line,
The effervescence was going up little by little:
It was so much New-York alike.
Apparently it was KEAG that was calling him.
because there were so many wall cars passing by in front of us.
CONKY answered “in Style Wars”
and I guess the guy on the phone asked him “Where are you?”
I remember, CONKY received a phoned call
watching their pieces and feeling the line.
The VF crew was there on the grass too,
There were many trains running with our names.
That day, CONKY was with us.
We used to go there to take pictures.
next to France Télévision in the West of Paris.
is the white bridge from the "Parc Andre Citroen",
This noticeable bridge used on the cover of the book
I did some really great pictures that you can see in the book .
who didn’t know that the action was taking place.
There were people who came here randomly like ELIUM
What was really amazing for me were the colors everywhere.
Even for me, with a 10 years writing career under my belt at that time.
It was amazing.
and I realized there were so many peoples writing everywhere.
I had to cross the tracks to enter the yard
I arrived late that day,
I wanted to film that for the UV2's DVD.
with ERCO, CIEL, VESTY, SALO, FREZ and many others
TRANE told me he was organizing a mission in Juvisy
It was the big action of Juvisy.
Regarding the photos, one was particularly remarkable.
These are interesting texts.
focusing on some writers like : ERKO, MOCK, MANK and EKLA, who wrote me a nice text.
I did some little excerpt,
I have a lot of archives and the hardest is to organized them into one book.
So I took pictures of everything I could.
I’m a graffiti addict, so I couldn’t imagine not taking pictures of others too.
from our pieces and from others, so we could look at their work too.
and we also took a lot of pictures,
with my partners FUZI, TRANE and CIEL
I’m a writer, I used to paint that line on the regular
almost all trains were painted.
If you started benching that line in 2000 and especially in 2001,
Thats where the New-York touch came from.
The buff was going hard, but most of the train were running burn.
So they were running.
As everybody was painting at the same moment, the SNCF didn’t have time to buff the trains.
all gathered and came to paint there.
Old generation of writers like ERCO and I but also younger ones like the C99 or the VF,
Most of the trains were painted.
that finally became a kind of “little New-York”.
and to express themselves on the line
There are many crews that came to battle,
It’s a very prosperous period for this line.
80% of the book covered the 99’s until 2001.
RER C is the volume 9th of GRAFFALIFE.
