Hi, my name is Jason.I'm with Hi-tech Window Cleaning, and in this section, I'm going to
be explaining the type of ladders that we use, to clean windows professionally. Most
people use extension ladders, step ladders, things of that nature. We don't. We use a
ladder, and it's called a sectional ladder. There's numerous brands of them out there.
One of them is Alcoa, to name one. We don't use extension ladders, because of their weight,
and their inefficiency, and the bulkiness of them. You have to have a ladder rack on
a van, or something of that nature, and it usually takes two people to use them, and
on a home, it really doesn't work, trying to get a forty foot extension ladder in through
a little home doorway, for the high windows a lot of people have, or the chandeliers,
so we use sectional ladders. The cost on these is a little bit pricey. They're about a hundred
and fifty dollars a piece, and you just stack them like an erector set. We have a base ladder,
that has feet on it, and that's for traction, so it doesn't slip. You could also bend the
feet, and actually dig them in the dirt, when you're outside, and that way, they can't slip
on a little steep slope, or anything like that. They also make leg levelers for them,
you can add to the sides, for a staircase, or something that's really un-level, and you
can actually adjust the feet, and use them just like you would any other ladder, on a
steep slope, and I'll continue on in the next section, with the ladders.
