RULE 1 - THE FIELD
Football must be played on rectangular fields with natural or artificial grass.
If the grass is artificial, it must be green.
The field is marked by lines of 90 to 120 meters in length
and width of 45 to 90 meters.
In international matches, the measures change:
the field must be 100 to 110 meters long and 64 to 75 meters wide.
In both cases, the lines must be 12 centimeters wide.
The field is divided in half by a line.
In the middle, there is the center of the field mark,
and around it, a circle with 9.15 meter radius.
On both sides of the field, there is the so-called goal area in front of each goal.
It measures 5.5 meters by 18.3 meters.
Around it is the penalty area, 16.5 meters long and 40.3 meters wide.
The penalty mark is 11 meters from the goal and equidistant from the goalposts.
The penalty arc, which has the same radius as the center circle (9.15 meters),
curves from the penalty area towards the center of the field.
On either side of the field, there are one-meter radius semicircles
and at the center of each, there are flags on posts at least 1.5 meters high.
The goal is comprised of two 2.44-meter lateral posts.
A 7.32 meter post is placed atop these.
They must be white and can be made of wood, metal or other materials.
A net must be placed behind and on either side of the goalposts
to hold the ball when a goal is scored.
