Jeff Clark: What separates Harper's program maybe for some other equally as good programs,
our pass rate is nearly 100%. We take great pride in our passing rates and our ability
to teach entry level CDL training to virtually anyone. Our program is designed not just to
give someone a CDL, but to give them the tools and the education they need so they have a
successful career in the transportation industry.
Harper's program is geared towards finding people work or employment. Our success ratio
on this is very, very high. Our reputation is such in the industry that our students
are highly recruited by a number of companies. We actually have to limit the amount of companies
coming in to try to hire our students, but every class we have carriers, major carriers
come in and actually compete against each other to hire our students and a lot of this
is predicated on the reputation of our program and quality student we produce.
John Ptak: We have a program here where we give them 40 hours of classroom training then
we take them out into the yard, and we do a skills course with them where they know
how to handle the truck and from there we take them out and get them proficient on the
road whether in traffic and handling the truck in various situations, weather conditions
etcetera.
Brian Fields: Harper, had a direct program, it was direct, it was just like 30 days getting
here, get it and get done and that's what I want to do.
Jeff Clark: Our instructors selected for Harper College, we require 30 years experience. They
also go through a very rigorous hiring process that includes licensing by the Illinois Secretary
of State. Our program is fully insured and our instructors are held to a very high level.
Brian Fields: Harper was a great investment and a great opportunity. I was well prepared
for what I came in for. It was a win-win for me. I liked it.
Jeff Clark: One of the reasons that our program is so highly recruited is - in the industry
we're looking at a massive driver shortage just getting worse by the day. Some industry
figures put it as high as 400,000 and some industry figures put it as 250,000. This means
this is, this many drivers that we're looking to be short in the upcoming five year period.
We're helping fulfill their shortage with better companies that have better pay, better
benefits that recruit better drivers. The better drivers are the better educated drivers.
Harper's program is designed to go way beyond the minimums. We'll also give you the tools
that you need to be a successful driver and the difference between just being a successful
driver and someone that has a CDL is immense. You have earning potential and longevity in the industry.
