hello youtube
this is a video on what i got for christmas
which is my leatherman wave
and how it compares to the victorinox swiss army knife
It is actually gold plated, from texas tool crafters
which you can find on ebay
only cost slightly more than the standard leatherman
I think i paid about $110 Australian dollars
I am going to compare these 3 knives
If you know anything about knives, or multi tools
there is basically two or maybe three types of popular
multi tools and knives
Victorinox, Leatherman, and wenger and maybe gerber
The original swiss army knife is the Victorinox
which you can easily recognise from this logo
This is in my opinion the best multi tool that money can buy
The best quality knife and multi tool.
This is the second leatherman knife
i have owned, it is made in the USA
I have had quite a few victorinox knives, i am actually a bit of a collector of victorinox
knives
This would be more suited for trades people, painter, plasterer, carpenter, brick layer
something you'd be happy to have knocked around
its more functional in that sense, but it is not as of a high quality as the Victorinox
The Victorinox knives in my opinion are a superior standard of knife
The steel is a much higher quality and the finish on the knife is much better
This is the Victorinox swiss army work champ
which has quite a large blade, which can be locked opened
its quite a bit larger than a standard swiss army knive
The smaller one has had quite a bit of use
This larger knife is only a few months old
I have two Victorinox Work champ knives
it has a small pair of pliers
which is usually the decider between buying the victorinox
or buying the leatherman,
which has a larger pair of pliers
The leatherman is basically a full set of pliers
The Victorinox pliers, though small, are very good pliers
I actually over used the Victorinox pliers, and broke a pair
but i was being very *** the Victorinox knife
It is now in my car as a spare tool i use for various things
I keep this larger Victorinox Swiss Army knife
in the house, for general work around the home
The leatherman is the tool i use at work, on a job site
However with the gold plating, i am not sure how it will hold up
I might end up buying another one that is not gold plated to use at work
Its a very sterdy tool, very tough, and the blades and tools lock open
I use the pliers quite a bit
having a large set of pliers at work is essential
The other thing is the casing on the Victorinox Swiss Army Knife is plastic
and the leatherman is steel
Victorinox have several knives that have a steel cover, but they arent very functional
knives
The quality of the leatherman, and the way it is produced
is of much lower quality than the Victorinox swiss army knife
My previous leatherman, i believe was a higher quality knife
The finish on the blades, and the way they are sharpened
are of a low quality
i believe i could do a better job by hand in the shed
The blade is sharpened quite rough, and there are very small gouges all along the blade
The Victorinox Swiss Army Knife is sharpened to perfection
and has a very nice mirror finish
The leatherman has a poor finish overall on the knife
compared to the Swiss made Victorinox Swiss Army Knife
This is a poorly finished knife, the leatherman.
This Victorinox knife has had a reasonable amount of use
and you can see how precise the blade is
If i was going to buy another one of these
i would buy the Victorinox Swiss Tool
over another leatherman
I am still happy with the leatherman
it will be a good work knife
but i am very fussy when it comes to these things
