So, you're interested in creating a book trailer
for your RAFT project. Before I would
even open I movie or any other program
for movie creation, I would first
look at some book trailers that have been done
I came across this site
What a lovely title--slime kids book trailers---
but when I click on here
I can scroll through, I can see a variety of book trailers
that are for recent titles
These are for new ones--books that have been out for just a short time.
Late decade-- means they have been released
within the past 10 years-- early decade
again, recent but not brand new and then you have some for classic titles
before I would even start
creating my own book trailer, I probably
would look and see what other people have done, and I might look and see if
there's a title on here that entices me or
interests me
I noticed just by looking at these there are some very, very
interesting covers.
I can see on here the reading level and the genre
so, I will try this one since I like suspense. I see that it's a third to fifth grade reading
level
but it might be interesting. I see a book
description which would be the synopsis for my story
When I press play, I notice it's a very short
A movie trailer should only be 1-4 minutes, maximum
It prepares me visually for what I will see in the trailer.
It is reloading.
Just by watching
a little bit
I noticed that whoever did this book trailer
chose to not
to act out scenes but instead they chose to
include still shots and sound effects
and other things transitions that allow all
those who are watching the book trailer to see significant
events. Viewers are introduced to the characters You
saw a bloody scene--it looked like a
a bad thing may have happened at some point in the story... and it allowed me to see what
a scene from the story might include. MY book trailer's NOT going to
include the entire storyline
but the most significant and interesting parts
in hopes that the person that watches the book trailer
will want to read the book. So lets just continue to watch the movie and if you notice that was only a minute and 24
seconds. I am actually going to let it continue to play through
your book trailer should not be long-- it should be short
it should be interesting it should captivate the audience
and it should focus more on
making a significant impact than you focusing on trying to act out
actual scenes. there's a book review
included in this one-- they probably explain part of the story. There is an online store to find out where to buy the book
again these are still shots-- it's not as effective to try to act out the scenes.
There are sound effects in the background, and there's
cover. This part tells you where you can get a book
tells you the publisher, the title, etc. This is a nice
short, succinct book trailer
