>>Randy: Hello, my name is Randy. I'm here with www.uniquevanities.com. Our ask the contractor
question of the day is what are some general ideas for bathroom lighting. Bathrooms are
a place I think you want to have plenty of light. It's always better to have more light
than not enough. I usually do lighting in a couple different sort of task oriented lights
and general lighting, split it up on different switches so you can just have on the lights
you need or all of them at once. What I can do I think is put lights over the mirror.
In my opinion, make the best lighting for getting ready or doing shaving, whatever in
front of the mirror. I also like to put some recessed lights in; either over the vanity
or down the center of the bathroom just as the first switch you hit for general lighting
when you walk into the room. Another thing I always like to do is put in
a bath fan/light combo; either if you have a separate water closet or toilet room you
can put one in there or over the shower is a good place to have a bath fan/light combination.
I think it's always best to add more light than not enough because if you're using incandescent
bulbs or even if you're using the CFL or LED, you can always put them on a dimmer and dim
them down. So I hope this helps. If you have any questions, give us a call at 866-526-1843
