Hello everybody, this is Goji73 here with a figure review.
I'm sorry for the delay last week, my job recently picked up
and I was not really in the mood to do a review for last week so I
apologize for that
but now that it's currently downtime for my job
I can finally get onto reviewing again.
Now that Marmit Aron and has been reviewed and put out of the way,
here is the next one from the
collection update.
The MonstersArts
Little Godzilla.
Now being as he is the son of Godzilla, I will try to cover history as much as I can
in a short amount of time,
but basically, Little Godzilla is the second form of Baby Godzilla in his
growth
and he first appears in the film, "Godzilla vs SpaceGodzilla".
He is living with Godzilla on Birth Island until SpaceGodzilla shows up,
attacks him, and takes him captive when Godzilla arrives to fight SpaceGodzilla.
After being captured, Godzilla goes after SpaceGodzilla to try to free his son
throughout the whole movie, and upon doing so Godzilla manages to kill Space
Godzilla
and Little Godzilla is freed.
Apart from that, throughout most of his appearances, Little Godzilla is just meant
to look cutsie 'n stuff.
And
That would be just about it for Little Godzilla's history.
First off, before I get to detail, I should say Little Godzilla has a bit
of a mixed reaction i've noticed from people on the fandom
and as for me personally I actually do like Little
Godzilla.
Much like... Well, he doesn't have the nostalgic
feel I have for Minya, but honestly I just like him for his cutsie
design.
Although after talking to some friends of mine i will agree to some extent that
as a form of godzilla son, at
least during his growth this just does not fit as the ideal design of what
a son of Godzilla would look like.
Because you look at Baby Godzilla, and you look at Junior and you'll notice that
they look
nothing at all like Little Godzilla
and/or vice versa.
And so
as the design for a son of Godzilla, it just
dosen't work.
I mean, maybe if Heisei had a more Showa, Campy feel maybe it would've, but you know
as we all know
Heisei was, you know, more serious and more down to Earth unlike
the Showa films so,
I like for its design because like I said: It's cutsie, but
as the son of Godzilla,
this design just doesn't
fit right for me.
But anyway, I'd just thought I'd bring that up. Back onto detail,
and seeing as this is a MonstersArts of the character, detail of course is nicely captured.
The skin is completely accurate to how it looks in the suit given his uh... few
minutes of screen time that we see with him
His body is indeed all green
and the creamy color on his chest is definitely there in the film you can see
it,
and something I like that the bandai figure doesn't really get to well is
that
Bandai's belly is usually
um... yellow and at times it looks like it's actually sectioned off,
whereas if you look closely
the creamy uh...
The color on his belly is
you know, a lot more natural and just flows off.
And of course the face as you can see is definitely spot on and accurate.
So
Yep. Just overall,
that's...
Detail is very accurate.
and seeing as I do have the accessories on me, unopened although
let's take a look at them.
Here are basically an overview of what the accessories are.
They're just little Stalag--
Crystals that um...
(Sorry, they're not stalagmites)
They're Crystals that SpaceGodzilla generates and actually uses to imprison
LittleGodzilla in the film, like those the pegs
these are the Crystals that the pegs hook up to and that the platform that
they all connect to.
I didn't take it out of the packaging because, I don't want to lose
all the pieces,
and plus
My main, The main highlight of the figure is Little Godzilla himself.
So
Sorry I didn't take it out to show you, but that that's just a brief overview of what they look like.
And so quickly onto superpowers. Little Godzilla has technically one
but we don't really get to see it in action
He's able to spew atomic bubbles from his mouth but we only get to see them in
the last minutes of the film
but since its technically does come out of his mouth as an attack, I thought I'd just
mention it there.
And now onto articulation.
Now as expected seeing as this is a MonsterArts, he does have quite a few:
his arms have three point of articulation
at the shoulders, the elbows, and if you look closely the wrists too, but
for some odd reason on mine the only ones whose wrists work is this one for now.
And I don't wanna
Try and risk breaking it off so that's three for each arm.
The leg also has three points each
The um...
this part
the knee
the foot
they all move.
So that's twelve
and
the mouth opens and closes like this
and the waist actually does have
some
but it's not very strong and I wouldn't recommend constantly moving or you might
you know, break the figure.
So overall that's fourteen points of articulation, which is
pretty good. I mean after he is Little Godzilla after all.
So it comes as no surprise that he has something similar to what the
MonsterArts Godzilla has.
And speaking of MonsterArts Godzilla, it's time for sizing so allow me too quickly
move up my camera so we can get a better shot
of sizing in action.
Move Little Godzilla back here,
and here it is of course his parent:
Godzilla.
Now another thing that
you know, stands out from Little Godzilla and his other two forms is that of the
two forms
with the slight debatability of Junior,
Little Godzilla is surprisingly the tallest.
Because as you can see here, here he is about half Godzilla's size.
I mean even as a MonsterArts, I don't if this is really accurate, but you know in the film,
he does actually reach this height when Godzilla is trying to protect them from Space
Godzilla so,
from, you know, Movie-Accurate assumption
which is what most of my reviews do with sizing i'd say this is actually pretty
accurate.
Little Godzilla is about this big like I said
and he does scale up well with Godzilla.
So sizing's good here.
And since he did guote/unquote, well *not quote/unquote but did get his *** kicked
in the movie
here is the villain
SpaceGodzilla.
And I thought I'd quickly mention this because I know a lot of people did ask
about this, "What happened to my MonsterArts?"
I gave it to my friend, Deadzilla as a gift. Because once i finally took the
MonsterArts SpaceGodzilla out of his box, I just really wasn't that impressed with
it
It was just a clone of Godzilla, but with
Less articulation, particularly in the shoulders
and as nit-picky as the sounds, I really did not like that at all
so i apologize
But anyway, back onto the review
seeing as the bandai figures do scale up well with the MonsterArts figures,
I'd say this is accurate, SpaceGodzilla does look to be about this big in
comparison to Little Godzilla in the film. So
this looks just about accurate.
And while this is technically a new figure, I believe Little Godzilla
is an
Event Exclusive Figure, so
I would say rarity is actually pretty high on this.
So if you do find him, consider yourself lucky if you really want to get him.
And so that's it for this review. History is brief, only made appearance once.
Detail is of course spot on as...
As spot on it can get.
Sizing is accurate. Articulation is good. Rarity is high. So overall I'll
give the figure a 9 out of 10
That or a 9.5. It is quite possibly the best capture--
capturing of Little Godzilla in his appearance.
And so that's it. I hope you enjoyed this review!
