Unicycles that are for specific things that are not just beginners unicyclist are going
to be more expensive than beginning unicycles. You can get a decent beginning unicycle brand
new for right around a hundred dollars. I buy all my unicycles from unicycle.com. There's
other places that you can get them but so right around a hundred dollars you can get
a decent unicycle. It will last you until you learn to do stuff but when you start doing
stuff that's a little bit harder on the unicycle you need to move on up. So for off roading
unicycles this unicycle costs between four and five hundred dollars and the reason is
because it has a specially crafted seat. The seat has more scoop out so that it doesn't
slip out from between your legs while you're off roading because you're standing up on
the pedals. It also has a handle that you hold on to. You can pull up on the handle
in order to get more pressure basically from your foot. So you get all your body weight
on there and you can get the amount of force that you have in your arm. Also in off roading
unicycle there's something called a spline hub. This is the axle right here. That's splined
which means instead of having the regular square tapered hub which wears out easily
with a lot of stress. Those splines basically it's like a spiky looking star, they take
a lot of the stress and distribute it evenly so that your cranks and your hubs is much
stronger and will last a lot longer. So that's what's going to make an off roading unicycle
a lot more expensive than beginning unicycle.
