The next card type we'll be discussing is a Sorcery. Sorcery represents a spell that
occurs once and then is put directly into the graveyard after having its effect. Here
we have three examples "Firebolt", "Empty the Warrens" and "Duress". "Duress" the simplest
of the three casts for one black mana, "Target opponent reveals his or her hand. Choose a
noncreature, nonland card from it. That player then discards that card." That means exactly
as it says, you follow the instructions of the sorcery and then after it's had its effect
you put it into your discard pile called your "Graveyard". "Empty the Warrens", being a
sorcery, is simply a matter of following the instructions in the text box. You pay one
red and three colorless to "put two 1/1 red Goblin creature tokens into play". These "Goblin
tokens" can be represented by glass beads or anything else you have handy. It has another
ability "Storm", which means that it's copied for every other spell played this turn but
we'll go into that later. "Firebolt deals 2 damage to target creature or player" so
it can be used directly to effect the opponents life total or it can be used to kill a creature
such as this "Deepwood Elder" or even one of the "goblin tokens". They are effected
by cards that say they that they effect sorceries for instance the "Anarchist", one red, four
colorless and when it comes into play you may return target sorcery, which is any of
these three cards, from your graveyard back to your hand to be re-used once again.
