Hi you guys, it's Laura here. I want to talk to you today about all natural pain relief.
I get asked a lot, because I'm training people all the time and they have pain, you know..."What
do you do for your pain?" And, I know a lot of about pain because I am an athlete, and
I've been running nearly my whole life and I have problems with my Achilles that flare
up from time to time depending on how much I'm working out. A couple of years ago when
I was training for my marathon I was looking for a way to control my pain without having
to take over the counter medications because I don't like to take over-the-counter medications
because of course they're toxic to your system. So I'm going to share with you my three favorites.
These are my top three favorites for pain relief.
My first one is white willow bark. Now, white willow bark is a natural herbal pain reliever
and it's derived from salicin which is one of the ingredients that aspirin is derived
from, the synthetic aspirin. So it works really really well, you can buy it in the health
food store, and you can take like two to three capsules depending on your level of pain,
and you can see if that works for you.
My second favorite is oil of oregano. I actually just discovered this recently and I really
like it. With oil of oregano, it's a capsule and you can take these capsules. You take
like one to two capsules, or you can rub the oil on the skin where your pain is. You can
mix the oil with another agent like olive oil and then rub the two into your skin, and
that works really well for pain relief too. Now with oil of oregano, some believe its
as powerful as morphine in reducing your pain. So you can try that and see if that works
for you.
Now my personal favorite, and what works for me the best, is turmeric, the spice. This
beautiful orange spice that you see in a lot of Indian foods. The main component of turmeric
is curcumin, and that is what has the powerful anti-inflammatory properties. And the way
t take turmeric (you can buy turmeric in capsules in the health food store) but what I find
works the best for me is taking turmeric like this...which to me is the equivalent of taking
three ibuprofen. I take like a heaping teaspoon, and I mix it in a small amount of water. It's
gross, I mean it's not super tasty, but you have to stir it up really good and you get
like this mustard colored thick liquid. And you just DOWN it basically, you just DOWN
it! DONE! I mean it tastes kind of gritty and kind of sandy, but that's all it takes
and your done! Like 1 second. And you'll find, within 20 minutes, the pain relief from that
is superior to anything that I've found, and I've used all three of these, the white willow,
the oil of oregano and the turmeric. This to me is my favorite for my pain...for what
ails me. So try these and see what works for you. If you have any questions please comment
below or you can email me and I will definitely help you out with your pain and look to the
next video which I'm going to show you guys which is the things that you can, physical
things that you can do, to help relieve your areas of pain. Talk to you soon!
