I'm Eddie! And this is Beyond the Limit: Supersaturated Solutions!
I'm going to tell you today about what a supersaturated solution is. When the solute; the thing you
add to a solvent, is added to the mixture, for example: Crystal Light to water, the solute
dissolves, blending into it. When adding too much, for example: Too much Sodium Acetate
to water, and heating it, the solute will try to escape and cling on to the nearest
object. The recent supersaturated lab we did can be used as an example: When the Potassium
Aluminum Sulfate was added, it tried to escape and crystalized. Most of you witnessed this
happen. It's quite extraordinary! Thank you for listening!
