Hi, Internet. Bob Mills here, your OUYA games guy,
back again to share some cool games with you. Last week we checked out Ittle New, Nimble
Quest and Sky Arena. And this week, we have a couple more for you.
It's been quite a bit since we hung out with a member of the OUYA team,
so I sat down for a couple minutes with Eddie Scholtz,
one of our engineers to talk the talk about some OUYA stuff.
So check it out. Sup.
Eddie. Where are you from?
Man, you can't show this. Like, I have stuff here that people shouldn't see.
Like what? Eddie's got his serious face on.
So something serious is happening. Enhance.
Enhance. Enhance.
So Eddie. So Bob.
Where are you from? Pennsylvania.
In the Philadelphia region? Yeah, the suburbs of Philly.
West Philadelphia? What do you program?
Lately I've been working on the store editor. The store has already existed.
And we have been editing it. But you are working on a store editor.
Correct. We did it to solve a few problems.
The first was to be able to update games that show up quicker.
The second thing was to allow our content team to be able to do that and highlight the
best games, custom playlists based on community members, and also based on data that we gather
with our O-Rank that we use to rank games. Once I rap this up, there will be more features
that we add. Some of the things we talked about are
in-game system menus. So when you double tap the OUYA button,
you get an overlay that basically allows you to view other games you've played recently,
"LIKE" games, view similar games, and it'll give you the option to quit the game or turn
off the system. What are some of your dreams?
I had one that I got bit by a bat and stabbed by this guy.
Are you serious? Yeah.
Worst nightmare I've ever had. Oh god. That's awesome.
I meant like, dreams like, what you want to do.
Oh. No.
None of those. So that's Eddie.
He's okay. Let's jump in and play some games.
First let's take a look at Wraithborne. It's by Alpha Dog Games.
it's an action RPG, sort of dungeon crawler. Wherein you play Wraithborne, the chosen one.
It's your mission to smash fools, collect runes, level up, collect armor and defeat
your foes. It's pretty cool.
You should check it out. Two giant-worm-themed action games came out
at around the same time. One is Super Mega Worm, and Hellworm is another
giant-worm game. Both worm games are really well done.
A lot of interesting reasons to play either one of them.
Hellworm's got different game modes. Super mega worm has some leveling stuff going
on. Great music in each.
Great action in each. Just really fun, funny games that you should
check out. So if you check out DISCOVER in the FEATURED
section you might notice another group of two. And those are of the feline variety.
We've got Nyan Cat and Box Cat in the FEATURED section, and I'm pretty stoked about that
because I'm a cat person. That's it for me.
Until next time, Internet.
