My name is Maxime. I'm 25 years old.
I'm from France
and I'm a professional swimmer in Marseille.
I think I'm a funny guy
because I like to joke all the time.
In the water, never, but out of the water, yes.
I came to Marseille to build boats.
I came to the pool
to ask the coach if I could swim here.
He said: "Put your suit on
"and I'll watch you swim."
Once I had finished, he said: "You're very bad.
"You have the level of a 12-year-old child.
"I'll give you three months. You can swim with the group,
"with the 12-year-olds."
After one season of swimming, I became the French champion
in the second division.
The coach allowed me to stay in the team.
My project is a swimming day
involving great swimmers
for disabled children.
I'm a member of a charity
for hospitalised children
who have to undergo treatments such as chemotherapy
and who can't leave the hospital.
I want to help them.
