Today, we are going to use three tips to create a
gnarly layout: paint-splattered accents, stacked My
Stickease® images, and dates. Let’s get started!
For a layout like this that is meant to showcase our
favorite boys, the more paint-splattered, the better!
Luckily, the Later Sk8r kit has some great paint-
splattered B&T papers for us to use. We have not only
chosen paint-splattered papers for our layout pieces,
but we're also going to add a paint-splattered accent.
Let’s walk you through how to make these. First we’ll
delete them and start over so you can watch from the
beginning. Select two journaling areas from the Text
toolset and fill them with the Lagoon paint-splattered
B&T. Then rotate the text boxes so that they each run
off the page. Put one box at the top of the left page,
and the other on the right side of the right page. Looking good!
When it comes to My Stickease images, sometimes more is
better. We are going to use a trendy blue and white
arrow to point to the large picture on the right page.
Let’s walk you through it! We are going to delete it
again, and start over. First, select the arrow by going
to the My Stickease toolset, choosing Medium Accents
from the drop-down menu, and dragging two of the blue
and white arrows to the right page. Rotate the arrows
and stack them next to each other to form one long
arrow for more emphasis. Next, we’ll add stitching
to the top. Go to Embellishments, select Stitching
from the drop-down menu, and choose the small
cross-stitch. Change the color to outdoor denim.
Place the stitching in the center of the arrow and
shorten accordingly. Isn’t this a darling way to
focus the attention on these little dudes?
Lastly, we’ll add a date to our layout so we can always
remember what year it was when these pictures were
taken. Dates are always a great addition to a layout
because they are an easy way to better document the
memories. We’ll add the year — 2012 — using the
Quick-title tool. First, we’ll zoom in for a better
view. Go to My Stickease and click on “Add Quick-title
tool.” A text box will come up and you can type the
desired date into the box, resizing it to 25. Then
slide that text box over to the bottom right-hand
side of a photo and it’s good to go! Log in to Studio J
