Pentek FloPlus-10 Fiberdyne Carbon Filter Hey everyone, Aquaman here with FilterDoctor.com.
Today we’re looking at the Pentek FloPlus-10. This is an industry standard size cartridge,
approximately 10 inches long by 2 ½ inches in diameter, which means it’s going to fit
into a vast array of industry standard size filter housings, like for example, the popular
Pentek 158642 that you see here. Now, the FloPlus-10 is a 0.5 micron, Fiberdyne
carbon filter. Fiberdyne is Pentek’s latest technology that allows for denser porosity
without sacrificing flow rate and pressure loss. You see, this filter has the equivalent
flow rate of a 10 micron carbon block. That’s a big deal, because typically a 0.5 micron
carbon filter will have such high pressure loss and flow restriction, you simply can’t
use it a whole house situation. But you can use the FloPlus-10 in whole house applications.
Just be sure to pre-filter for sediment before this filter. You see, it’s so tight, it
will certainly capture any sediment in your water, and that will clog the structure and
kill the filter before the carbon is truly exhausted.
Now, the FloPlus-10 is NSF Standard 53 certified, which mean it reduces 99.95% of microbial
cysts like cryptosporidium and giardia. And, of course, the carbon removes chlorine taste
and odor and a long list of organic and inorganic chemicals.
Assuming you use the pre-filter to capture sediment before this filter; filter life is
approximately 10,000 gallons for chlorine taste and odor.
Again, this is the Pentek FloPlus-10, and I’m your host Aquaman with FilterDoctor.com.
Thanks for watching.
