“Ready Action! Cross Match!”
Yeah, it’s really fun.
But dude (Gisado), what’s wrong with your hair?
You wanted to get some attention, right?
No no.
Someone who is right in his mind wouldn’t do such a thing.
I just closed my eyes, opened them, and then it was like this.
You didn’t feel the need to have it styled in a certain way?
When I get my make-up, they look at my expression. When I like it the way it is we just go with it!
So he liked how he looked!
“Oh! Doesn’t look bad! If Jeong, Woo-sung(The man in the Monseiur J. spot) can do this, then why not me?”
You were really happy with the styling, right?
Actually… I don’t know.
I have no idea about styling and such things.
I don’t know if something looks good or bad.
But you didn’t think it was terrible when you looked in the mirror.
Well, I thought a professional did it like that for me, so I guess it must be alright.
We lost!
AcE lost against the anonymous Terran D.
If you know it, then tell us, who is Terran D?
Don’t tell us about Terran D. First, tell us why he lost.
In the beginning I saw the build and then got suspicious, but then later I saw the chat and was sure by then.
They’re not taking it seriously..
They look down on the KeSPA players and think they can just win by doing what they always do.
A 2-Barracks build usually gets defended. There is a chance that you can win with it, but only if the opponent doesn’t see it coming.
But then he got scouted and just laughed in chat.
And that just basically showed an attitude like, “I will not cancel this, I will use this anyway so try defending it.”
And then I looked at what the Protoss was doing and he just defended it perfectly.
So I thought, “Okay, I guess we will see some upsets here tonight.”
The KeSPA players went wild and really want to play on the show now.
We’ll come out and show you what we got!
sHy! That guy just totally…
People are saying that they should give him the weekly Proleague MVP award, haha.
This happening is actually really great news for us.
It’s also a bit of a shock. At first, our pride was hurt a bit and I thought “ah, how can we lose like this?”
But in the end, if the KeSPA players really play well, that is only good for the competition and makes it more exciting.
And all the attention will be focused on this.
People have been talking about this all week long.
I think it’s really good after all, makes things fun.
When you saw that 2 Barracks build, one of you addressed another player as Bomber and then it was not him, he was doing a live stream while the show was on air.
Why are you lying like that on broadcast?
During the cast, even though you might not believe me now.
While casting, I was constantly wondering who this player might be
So I examined the choices. The timing and the build and thought about it
And then had like 3 possible candidates in my mind.
And while I was thinking about this, there was decisive moment in the match
and I was so immersed in the cast that I unconsciously just mentioned the name.
I didn’t even know that I said it.
The casters actually do not know who is playing.
So don’t believe what they are saying.
Daejang, how about you come on the show and play, to represent GSL.
I can’t play, of course.
But what if you play and win?
You win and then your name is put on screen, “D-a-e-j-a-n-g!”
Your opponents would be so frustrated.
Well, that sounds kind of good, but…
I saw the GSL players lose and it kind of felt bad.
So at that moment, you didn’t feel like you wanted to play anymore?
If I played, I’d just….!
If I’d played, I’d lose.
And you don’t know who you will face.
Three weeks of “Ready Action! Cross Match” are left. [T/N: It was actually extended now]
If you don’t participate during those 3 weeks, then you will have to do WCS straight away.
It will be offline then, you will have to put your name on the line there.
There will be GSL seeds and KeSPA seeds and everyone will play against each other.
Tell us a little about the WCS.
It will be a 32 player double elimination tournament that will be running for 16 days from August 6-25 on GOMTV.
Monday to Friday for three weeks and then the final on a Saturday.
Every match will be a Best of 3. The map pool will consist of 7 maps
And the map selection process is pretty unique.
There will be a coin flip that determines who is Player 1 and who is Player 2.
Player 1 then vetoes a map, and then Player 2 vetoes a map and so on.
When there are only 3 maps left, Player 1 then selects the map for the first set.
Player 2 selects the map for the second set.
And the remaining map will be the map for the 3rd set.
It’s a really unique system from Blizzard.
The Top 10 of WCS Korea will advance to the WCS Asia Finals. The WCS Korea champion will advance directly to the World Finals.
The total prize pool is about 30.000 USD. The Asia Finals will be around 50.000 USD.
And the World Finals will be around 100.000 USD, that’s my guess.
This hasn’t been announced yet, but I expect a large sum.
Now the 32 players that play at WCS Korea National Finals, how are they selected?
There are 16 seeded players.
10 seeds will be given out to GSL players.
These seeds are based on the GSL Point Ranking.
7 players have already been confirmed as seeds and since Seed won today, I think he is also confirmed to receive a seed.
The KeSPA players will receive 6 seeds.
We really get to see them play each other faster than expected.
I thought we would have to wait for about 1 year for it to happen.
But we’re really seeing this happen, after only about 6 months.
It might be a little awkward for me actually going, “Hello, nice to meet you for the first time”
Ah really? The players you used to play with don’t play much anymore.
Yes, many of them still work in the industry as commentators or something else.
But you’re still a senior programmer.
Yes, but they all don’t know me, hehe.
Just be like, “I’m Gisado, the progamer!”
Do you still have your progamer license?
It was cancelled, right? I also had one, but it expired.
Yes, when I did my mandatory military service, it got cancelled.
There are still people who pay the fee for that, 50.000 KRW.
For example, Yoo Dae-Hyun (T/N: [NC]…nO.1, very old school player)
He still has his progamer license?
But if you’re not on a team anymore, it changes to amateur status after 6 months.
There’s still people like that, who pay the fee and keep the license.
He still watches the GSL diligently, to see who’s doing well these days.
He always asks who’s good and how the casting is going.
The casters are really close with each other.
The generation that used to play with each other as progamers.
For example, Gisado, [NC]…nO.1 and me, we all played in a tournament together once.
It’s probably the only tournament I have ever won.
I sacrificed myself for that back then.
Yes, you dropped out along the way and I played in the finals against [NC]...nO.1
Yes and he lost to my fake hydra into muta-ling strategy.
It seems like it wasn’t really a very difficult tournament, hehe.
Hey, you!!
At that time, we were doing great!
[NC]…nO.1 was always bunkering every match!
[n2]Rookie lost in the Ro8 back then! [T/N: All very old-school players]
Now it’s all about Flash, Bisu, Jaedong and Stork, but back then, we did really well…
Daejang is like, “What the hell are these guys talking about?”
Hey, what generation progamer are you??
Do you even know the map Ashirigo?
Of course I know, it’s a ladder map.
We played ladder maps like Ashirigo and Showdown back then.
Today I think, “how could we even have a tournament on these maps”
Even more shocking than that, we even played on Hunters.
We played 1:1 random on Hunters.
You first had to find out where your opponent even was.
When you finally found your opponent with your scout, he already had Dark Templars.
Wtf?
So next week and the week after, when WCS will be starting
We’ll invite some players to the show and do interviews with them.
We all have to just talk together once.
We’ll just make a line in the middle and have 3 GSL players on the left and 3 KeSPA players on the right.
It’s possible that we can’t get any players because you also have to consider their tight schedules.
It’s not that they do not want to come, but because of the schedule, it’s sometimes not possible.
We’ll just go to them, then!
But we’ll try our best to get them on the show!
We’ll try our best to make a Baneling episode where we can all talk and have a laugh.
Ah, caster Kim, you came out today. Wow did it go?
Ah.. I think I was a little lacking today.
But I think compared to the first episode I appeared in, I have gotten much more comfortable with everyone.
So it wasn’t a perfect flow, but like a small river’s flow?
It didn’t flow like the Han river yet? Yes, next episode I’ll try to flow like the Han river.
What score do you predict for today’s episode?
I’d say around 8.9. I don’t think I’ll make the 9 just yet.
So today we treated you very nicely, right? Was it okay? Yes, it was very nice.
You usually talk so well, but you didn’t talk much today.
Oh, but it was good. You treated me very warmly.
I will speak more, when I want to.
Okay, then, our youngest member, caster Kim, please do the ending for us.
Daeguru?
No, that’s Guhshin’s way of doing it.
You need your own style.
I’ll go with Daegul Daegul, then.
Daegul! Daegul! Bane~~~Ling!
