In this video, I show how to create FileMaker Layouts using FmPro Migrator.
On the left hand side, I have a FileMaker template database open.
I have also opened the FmPro Migrator Status Window, from the File menu.
You don't have to do this, but this window will show the status of automation scripts
during the processing.
On the right hand side, I have the FmPro Migrator Migration Process window open, and I have
clicked the Layouts tab.
The button I will use here is the "Create All Layouts" button, and I have selected "Pass#1"
because I am creating new layouts in the FileMaker database.
I am prompted to click in the upper left corner of the layout canvas, so that the objects
get placed in the correct location.
Once I have done that, I will click the Ok button, to the prompt dialog.
And FmPro Migrator will proceed to loop thru all 87 layouts, and create these layouts in
the FileMaker database.
When creating a layout you will notice that FmPro Migrator deletes the Header and Footer
layout parts, and pastes the contents of the layout into the Body part.
As a FileMaker developer, it will be necessary to add any layout parts that you want manually
because FileMaker does not have the ability to copy layout parts via the clipboard.
