Choosing a bathroom faucet is like choosing a pair of shoes. Although small, the shape,
style and size can often be the tipping point in determining the direction of your bathroom
style and theme. Today we're going to show you how to replace a bathroom sink.
The tools you're going to need are: your new faucet, Adjustable Wrenches, new Supply lines
if they don't come with the faucet, Plumber's Tape, a Work Light, and a towel for cleanup
and a Small Bucket to catch any water.
The first step is to reach under and turn off the water.
Next, disconnect the supply lines of the old sink from the wall.
Remove the hardware from underneath that holds the faucet in place.
With the supply lines and the hardware removed, you can now remove the faucet.
You may need to clean the area underneath the faucet before installing your new faucet.
When you are looking to replace your bathroom faucet, make sure to find a faucet that will
fit your specific sink. Take note of the number of holes of your faucet, and the distance
between the holes. For our project in particular, we installed a new sink so that our faucet
could fit.
Now connect the supply lines to the new faucet, and guide the new faucet into the hole on
the sink.
Next connect the necessary hardware underneath the sink to secure the faucet.
Now would be the time to secure the drain. Our faucet didn't come with a drain. So to
make for an easy install, we decided to use a pop-up drain.
To install a pop-up drain, all we did was drop the top half of the drain into the sink,
connect the hardware underneath, and connect the pee trap to the drain.
With the faucet secured to the sink and the drain ready to go, all you need to do is reconnect
the supply lines to the wall.
Turn the water back on. Then turn the sink on to check for leaks, tightening any parts
as necessary.
And now, enjoy your new faucet. We hope we've been helpful today, and we welcome you to
join us on our next project.
