Some thieves with sticky fingers in Germany stole a whole shipment of Nutella over the
weekend. Five metric tons of Nutella to be exact.
“The sweet-toothed thieves in Germany broke the lock on a parked trailer and unloaded
5.5 tons of the chocolate- hazelnut spread Nutella.”
“Oh, yes indeed.” “According to police, the gooey loot is
worth an estimated $20,000.” It was also reported that thieves in the region
may have previously stolen more than 34,000 energy drinks — and 30,000 euros worth of
coffee from the same spot. The Palm Beach New Times predicts,
“Hopefully, the thieves will be captured after they check into local hospitals suffering
from energy drink induced heart palpitations and/or diabetic seizures.”
ABC’s Good Morning America discussed the incident Monday morning.
“I had no idea that the black market for Nutella was so robust. I had no idea. Give
it back, Lara.” “There's a little Nutella right there.”
“No questions asked.” And the Inquisitr points out — this isn’t
the first-ever reported Nutella theft. Students at Columbia University reportedly stole around
$5,000 worth of the chocolate-hazelnut spread. Dining hall officials claim students were
consuming about 100 pounds of Nutella on a daily basis.
An investigation in the most recent Nutella theft is ongoing.
