Hi I'm Justin with AmericanMuscle.com, and I have with me CDC's unpainted classic chin
spoiler and the pre painted Mustang GT chin spoiler fitting all 05 -- 09 Mustang GTs.
In terms of styling you can see both spoiler options really add a lot to the front end,
which in stock form can sometimes seem a little bit incomplete or unfinished. Both chin spoiler
options are not quite as radical as CDC's aggressive chin spoiler for the S197, which
does offer a little more rake and will stick out slightly further. But in the end, both
chin spoiler suit the front end well, and it all boils down to personal preference.
As for construction, both options are made by CDC using high pressure injection molded
urethane, which is going to stand up to just about any kind of abuse you can throw at it.
This material is going to allow the spoiler to bend and flex without cracking, which is
good just in case you ever accidentally hung up on a curb or something like that. As for
the finishes you can see our classic CDC chin spoiler installed on our 2006 behind me, is
unpainted which definitely looks good as is, or alternatively you can opt for the pre painted
version seen back there on our 07 GT. The pre painted version is painted right here
at AmericanMuscle.com headquarters, using the same base and clear coat that Ford uses
in their factories, making for a perfect color match, right out of the box. Installing the
chin spoiler is very easy and should only take you about an hour from start to finish.
Of course you can do the install with the car on the ground but it does help to get
the car up in the air slightly, just to give yourself a little more room to work. Another
good thing about the install is that it requires no drilling whatsoever, instead using the
supplied 3M automotive tape, and the 3M adhesion promoter. This is a very important step because
it basically ensures a secure bond between the 3M automotive tape and the chin spoiler
itself. Your first step is to rub that 3M adhesion promoter on the inside of the chin
spoiler, on the upper portion wherever that 3M tape will go. After you get the 3M tape
installed, simply reuse your factory hardware along with the two included push pins to get
the job done. The CDC classic and the pre painted Mustang GT chin spoiler offer good
quality materials and great fit, and are a great choice for anyone in the market looking
for a front chin spoiler for their S197 GT. Be sure to check out both options right here
