Krylon Quick Hits How-to in Minutes
Mark Clement MyFixitUpLife
I love my backyard fire pit,
whether it's hanging around with friends on a summer evening, or a quiet night with my
wife.
It's just awesome. But Mother Nature sure has taken its toll on this backyard fire pit.
So I'm going to finish it with Krylon High Heat Max.
It's going to give me the maximum rust protection I need for this to live outside.
And it's going to give me the color depth that I want for this to look good for years
to come.
It's also going to stand up to the temperatures that I'm going to find in here.
Flare-ups, up to 1,200 degrees, but sustaining temperatures of around 600 degrees.
So, the first thing I want to do is clean this off.
If you find a little rust on a DIY project like this,
the best thing to do, especially if it is flaking is hit it with a little sandpaper
to remove the part that is falling off and exposes a nice solid substrate.
Apply Krylon High Heat Max in side-to-side motions to get a nice even coverage.
Work your way through the area.
Apply one coat, let that dry. Then take a look at it.
If you feel like you want a second coat, put that on now.
And allow the spray paint to dry completely for about an hour.
Now this backyard fire pit is ready for more fun evenings, thanks to Krylon's High Heat
Max.
