Hi I'm Billy Kidd, here at Expert Village and we're going to talk about the dime defense.
Another negative to the nickel, is you know, you can get into if you have a skilled quarterback
right here, you can get into quarterback draws. The quarterback sets up; we've already designed
the play up front, the blocking schemes up front to where however we want to do it. We
want to block him here, here, bring him around the seal and then your quarterback's right
up here. You spread all your defensive backs out and you've got nothing but clear lane
here if you can break the line of scrimmage here with your quarterback. And that's if
it's a skilled quarterback. If he's not a skilled quarterback, but your running, you're
a passing team, but they have some pretty good defensive backs and they've been, you've
not had a lot of success getting receptions thrown, then what you may want to do, even
if maybe their playing a cover one and they've got a safety up here, you still have the capability
of doing several things here.
