I am ready for The Open. How about you?
Friday.
Mindset going into Friday.
Obviously you need to continue being aggressive to your targets.
And playing to put yourself in a great position for the weekend.
If Thursday hasn't been as successful as you would like,
you need to be a little bit more aggressive then you have to take on certain shots.
Just making the cut, you need to be aggressive.
You need to start realising that 36 holes is ticking away.
How many shots can you claw back?
If you are just making another number,
how many more birdies can you make if you are really in contention?
Missing cuts is the worst thing that could happen to any player.
As a business plan,
you've just made a massive loss for the week.
Obviously, when you miss the cut, there is no paydays.
I don't want everyone to get their Kleenexes out and start wiping their eyes.
But I mean these weeks are expensive.
You need to get over that.
I don't store negative thoughts in my mind.
If I've had a bad week,
I really can't recollect many of the shots that have happened during that week.
I try to force it out of my brain.
I don't share time with other golfers,
after I've had a good round or a bad round.
We all generally stay in different houses.
The second I get back, the chef has normally cooked up a lovely meal.
Whether it be a roast, pasta night, curry night
or whatever it may be.
But every night you stay in.
I can't beat a curry or a big Sunday roast
but I generally eat very well.
I like to eat in some of the best restaurants
and try to take care of myself as good as I possibly can.
When you walk off that 18th green
you want to be in the mindset that 'that was a good Thursday, Friday.'
I have managed to get the most out of my game.
I am very happy with how I played that round of golf."
Taking that relaxed mindset into the weekend is so powerful.
