'Bye Dad' 'Hi Sweetheart'
'Tom, this is school stuff, that's your Dad's area. I just forked out for the school photos.
I don't have the money for this'. 'But Dad can't afford it. He told me he's
working all the time to pay off his card. Anyway, he says this isn't really school stuff,
this is a trip, it's extra. Like the football kit, remember?
'Course he can afford it. He's got plenty of money. He just chooses to spend it on his
girlfriend and that kid. Anyway, he just bought you a playstation remember? So, I think he's
okay for money. You can get him to pay for this.'
'But, that was different. He's got a bonus. Dad thinks you should pay. He says you've
got the money' 'How would he know?'
'He says you always have enough to buy new clothes when you want. So, you've got the
money for this.' 'He's got loads more money than me, and he
and you know it' 'Okay, it doesn't matter, I won't go'
'Yes you will, course you will' 'Okay, I'll ask Dad when I see him next week'
'No, that'll be too late. I'll call him right now, and sort this out'
'Hello' 'What's all this about you not paying for
the school trip? You know, you're meant to pay for all school things'
'Well, hold on Jackie here, what happened to hello Simon, how are you. Yeah, I'm fine
thanks?' 'I think we're a bit beyond that, don't you?
Do you really want your son to be the one child not going on this trip?'
'Come on Jackie yeah, don't pull that emotional blackmail stuff'
'Well, just do the right thing then, and pay up, poor kid'
'Look, you can afford it, right and this isn't school, you know, this is extra, like the
football kit, you know that' 'Well, you've certainly convinced Tom. He
came straight in with 'Dad says this, Dad says that'
'Listen, I'm busy. And, I'm not going to waste my time talking to you now. It's going absolutely
nowhere as usual' 'Great, thanks a lot Simon. Really helpful'
