Campus activities board offers some great activities on campus all week long. So it's a great way to interact with other students
on and off the classes on campus. They
have had movie nights, they have poker nights, card game nights,
they've had bingo, they've had a cash money win game;
they've also brought comedians, hypnotists,
guest speakers,
they've actually had a couple bands come here. They've also had
performances by pianists and
vocalists.
So tehy bring a lot of things here on campus, to get people involved and
to enjoy their actual stay here, their weekends, their nights, and just to have fun in
general.
I was a freshman, it was the end of my freshman year and John and I were in a
writing workshop class together, and he
made this amazing video about poverty and
that really got me kind of on it,
and got me thinking about it,
and then sophomore year
John came up with this great idea to start this club and it just
took off from there. This is
chapter of the National One campaign to make poverty history and
on campus we hold different events to further
that cause and spread
awareness show people what that poverty is,
and also raise money to build a well in Sudan.
So were raising money to do that as a concrete project of actually
doing something.
I think even if you don't start a club, just being involved in a club
is really great to meet people who
obviously have the same interests as you,
who you can talk to, who you can spend time what outside of the club. The activities i'm involved
in here, i'm doing the management
forum. We go on
trips, learn how companies run their own companies, or
behind the scenes of things like, there's a Chiquita Banana trip we're going on,
and there's a bank were going to. So we really get behind the scenes of how they run the business, maybe get some
maybe take some of the hints they give us, to run our own businesses later on.
