Yay Tutorial! Please keep in mind I may not be the best 'teacher' but I'll do my best because this was a request.
First I need to show you how to create quides. Start by drawing a line straight through the center of the circle.
A guide will help you with knowing which features go where. drawing another line going hirozontically is where the chin is. (bet you guessed already)
You don't need to rush with the jaw lines, just go slow and that way you can notice mistakes faster.
The bottom line of the circle is where the eyes will be placed. Just alittle bit below that, is going to be the nose and then mouth.
I usually create many layers even with rough drafts so it avoids any messy erasing. It would be the best choice for you as well so feel free to try it.
Ah! Try not to switch the drawing like that- if you're a beginner and do that you may draw some mistakes with facial placements. Try not to do it. XD
I've drawing the face on a bit of an angle so keep in mind that depending on the angles the eye sizes vary. For this case, the left eye is short in length.
The ear starts off the same bottom circle line. The top of the ear should be about the size of the eyebrow ad bottom of the eye and near the nose.
I'm aiming for a cute look with this drawing so if you want to be realistic the bottom of the ear should in positioned with the bottom of the nose.
Ah Mistakes. Everyone makes them LOL.
I'll show you something else that may be useful.
This is another guide. You can also draw these if you need them.
The lines above the eyes will be where the eye brows and eye creases will go. (Is that what is called... I always called them thingies LOL huehue)
Theres the mouth line, bottom lip line and the chin line.
Jaw lines.
Oh, See where the right eye is and the line between that and the ear? I was suppose to do two lines like on the left. my mistake! .
The neck starts around the jaw lines so keep that in mind as well.
I'm jsut going over the lines now in green so you can see what it should look like.
Follow your guides but remember only use them as guide reference. You can fix things up as you go over the drawing or change things. Theres nolimits.
Also don't be afraid to make mistakes. I'd be more concerned if you weren't making noticeable mistakes. Mistakes mean you're learning! They help!
I usually draw my eyes more complex depending on the drawing but for this one I tried to keep it simple.
As you draw, try your best to imagine where the places go. If you can't use the guides and when they're down, imagine their placement.
It actually helps alot to imagine the parts of the face as you draw them. If you can't now, practice and you'll be able to. It took me 2 years LOL!
Too be honest, I'm nt much of a concious drawer. I simply place lines and draw without even thinking of what im drawing before hand.
After you use the guides so many times you tend to remember them so there will be a time when you won't need to draw guides. ^^ Keep Practicing!
The more mistakes you do in the rough stages of drawing, the better. When you go over it you can easily fix the mistakes and check over proportion.
The eyes can be pretty tricky when its from an angle. Keep studying the other eye as you draw so you can make corrections easier.
See i made a mistake on the left eye--- i'll fix it soon.
After you draw the eyes I guess it would be fine to flip the image and see how it looks. That can also help you notice mistakes---
Remember to zoom out every so often to check how it looks overall.
You can do the hair in any way you would like to. Just keep in mind of the hair growth direction, parting lines.
This part is optional but if you want to add more detail you can do this as well.
I'll show you everything in different layers now so you can see what they look like.
Keep in mind with the eyes, don't make them too close or too far apart, about this length is good.
This side of the left eye should be short compared to the other side of this eye. Its because of the angle. Keep that in mind.
This side is alittle bit longer. Also this eye is smaller in width compared the right eye.
The ear is in place with the eye brow. (Sheck the blue guide)
Okay i think thats pretty much everything I can think of for now. I'm going to speed up the video so you can see the inking,
