My wife and I were going to spend the weekend in New York. We went to the hotel and got
a nice hotel with a parking lot adjacent to it. I put the car in there and recognized
that it was a 24 lot and then the rates went up. Next morning we came down and went to
get the car. 23 hours plus wasn’t 24, but they charged us the 24 hour rate.
So I’m the kind of the guy that wanted to follow up and I asked the girl, you know,
why they’re going to do that. She kind of, you know, ignore me. On the back of the ticket
was the opportunity to call if you had a complaint, which I did. I made my complaint, sent a receipt,
got a call from the parking lot apologizing, and got my money back.
I was extremely happy with the service I got from the Department of Consumer Affairs through
311.
