This exercise is called Sandbag Bear Hug Jump Squats.
It targets the leg muscles.
Start out by standing with your feet about shoulder width apart and your toes pointed
slightly outward, holding the sandbag vertically up against your chest in a bear hug position.
Begin the exercise by squatting down by flexing your hips and knees slowly, keeping your lower
back flat or slightly arched and your chest up.
As you squat down, keep your knees aligned over your feet and stick your butt back, think
of sitting down into an imaginary chair.
Once you reach the bottom of the squat explosively jump up by extending your hips, knees and
ankles.
Try to land softly and quietly on your mid-foot with your knees slightly bent and avoid letting
your knees travel inward.
