At SMART, we have a heavy focus on our advocate marketing efforts. Our
flagship advocate program is the SMART Exemplary Educator Program, which is
a real mouthful, so we just call it the SEE Program.
That program currently has nearly 900 members in North America, many
hundreds more around the world. These are our real champion end users. The
majority of our SEEs are classroom teachers in the K-12 system in
U.S./Canada. I work with these teachers to nurture relationships with them,
to grow our relationship with them, and really to learn from them.
While they're out there in their schools and districts advocating for the
use of SMART products in the classroom, we're also going to our network of
SMART Exemplary Educators and asking them for feedback on our products.
What's working for you? What's not working for you? What do you see coming
down the pipe? How can we help?
The SMART Exemplary Educator Program is really important to SMART for a
number of reasons. It's an authentic voice. These aren't salespeople out
there selling our products. These are people who really use our products
every day and really have a passion for using our products. They're willing
to go out there and tell people how and why they use our products and why
they love our products. It's a powerful combination of peer to peer
feedback, peer to peer review.
