Kasr al-Nil Bridge, Cairo 6 June 2012
We won't forget you
Cairo commemorates second anniversary of Khaled Saeed's death
The martyrs are the most noble of us
Suheir Mahmoud, Housewife
The message I would like to convey..
..is that we had a revolution,
..but unfortunately, we still haven't received our rights..
..and that we will continue to stand behind the revolution..
..until we achieve our rights..
..and those of all of the martyrs,
..especially Khaled Saeed, the revolution's icon..
..and the spark that began the revolution
Mohamed Salah, Employee
Khaled Saeed died and we were unable to obtain his rights
I hope the people don't forget..
..so we don't end up with a million Khaled Saeed's..
..who we will not be able to help
The next person could be my son, your son or anyone’s son..
..so people must take care of their rights and themselves,
..and we must not lose the things we achieved..
..during the previous period for any reason whatsoever
Eid Mohamed, Taxi driver
The police haven't changed
In fact, they hope people will kill each other,
..until they beg to be led with a stick
They still use the same methods, nothing has changed
Things have gotten worse
No turning back… We are all Khaled Saeed
Today marks the two year anniversary of Khaled Saeed’s death,
..the revolution's icon
Mohamed Salah, Accountant
Saeed and the revolution's martyrs..
..who died since 25 January up until the Abbasseya events..
..in order to achieve the dream of all Egyptians,
..in other words, bread, freedom and justice
To this day, this has not been achieved
We now have two choices,
..the people who killed Khaled want to return,
..and the second choice are the people..
..who are capitalizing from his case
Rehab al-Isnawi, Student Faculty of Mass Communication
First I have a message for Khaled
I want to say sorry,
..I apologize to him and all of the martyrs
I feel we are all responsible for obtaining their rights
I want to say, you don't need an anniversary..
..for us to remember you,
..you are the revolution's voice
I also want to tell the people asking what we are doing..
..and why we are carrying these papers..
..that will lead nowhere and neither will the revolution
I’d like to tell them not to put us down
I won't burn things down,
..not because I'm afraid they will call me a thug,
..I don't need to burn anything down..
..and this isn't how we are anyway
This is what I can do,
..to express myself with paper or my opinion
