Turnbacktime Consultant Tutorial Video 7 - The Health Test
As TBT Consultants and Country Coordinators, I want to show you how to conduct TurnBackTime
tests in the correct manner. I will take you step-by-step through the process and along
the way, provide you with recommendations for best practise.
Before you begin a test with a client, ask them to sign the Terms and Conditions for
Client Testing document. You will need to keep this record for seven years.
The Consultant uses the Paper Testing document to record the client's details and subsequent
test readings. This will act as a back-up should your internet connection fail. Remember
to record the client's ID and Security Key on this document for ease of access in the
future. Firstly, ask your client to sit in a relaxed
position and ensure that their arms or legs are not crossed.
The Vital Vision device should be at the same level as the pressure cuff, so place it on
a table next to your client. Fit the pressure cuff to your client's arm,
one inch above their elbow, with the red line on the brachial artery.
Ask your client to close their eyes and remain silent and relaxed throughout the tests.
Take three test measurements by pressing the start/stop button to begin a test. The machine
will automatically stop once the readings have been gathered and the measurements will
be displayed on the screen. Write each reading down on the Paper Test
document. If the machine produces an 'error' message
or fails to provide a result, check the position and fit of the pressure cuff and that the
machine's batteries are fully charged. Correct any possible cause for error and retest. For
best practise, always keep a spare set of fully charged batteries with your equipment.
If you notice peaks or troughs in the readings, perform a further test.
Once you have three similar readings, remove the pressure cuff from the client's arm
and tell them that the tests are completed and they may now open their eyes.
You will now input the client's details and their readings onto the TBT website. Further
information on how to do this can be found on the another tutorial.
