At Dinosaur National Monument
just outside of Vernal, Utah
there's of formation of fossils that is
quite famous.
dinosaur national monument was erected there
to preserve part of the morrison formation
which is a massive formation uncovers multiple states
promised far south as the middle of new mexico
almost to the mexico border
and found this far north
as all the way up into canada
krista stalker of the carnegie museum when he was there
examined it and said that
he believed it was a sandbar much like the one i'm standing on
a local flood
he said
cause many of the dinosaurs to be drowned than their bodies would be
heaped upon sand bars in the middle of a river
or on the side of reverse
bus we get the as he put it jumble of bones
a massive
piling mixture of all kinds of dinosaurs some of them this articulated meaning
they'd been
shredded apart in heat said that this was because of flowing water carrying
the bodies of of the dinosaurs apart
and putting one part on one sand bar in another part getting lodged in a
different sand bar
but then the question comes
how big was that river
at the morrison formation covers
atleast ten states
and is found in three canadian provinces
how big with the river have to be
in order to form that formation
you can see here that the river must be larger than the sand bar
even the largest sand bars are smaller than the rivers that form them
the morrison formation was the result of a local flood
that most then one massive river
or whoever that was
as wide as north america
but not all paleontologist agree
like james kirkland with the utah geologic survey standing in some of the
same exact spot at the morse information
argued that it was
a drought
are two problems with that theory first off
why would they died on top of each other
in a drought
doesn't make any sense
and so i cannot
the most popular off the founder of the most common powerful found at the morse
information
often quite out
where the plan is going to come from in the middle of a drought
i want you to notice something though
kristall ca
and kirkland
completely different opinions on how dinosaur though monument for one says a
local club the other says the drought
and yet scientists would still consider both to be scientists y
because they're both abolitionist
and they have believe in millions of years
there's that protect the client
they're called beat creation
testing they believed
oscalus like the morse information where the result of a flawed
but not a local flood
as chris chris dot that other paleontologists would argue
they believe it was a global flood
