I don't know how you wrap up what she's done in ten years, because so often
her fingerprints are on things, but you don't know it necessarily.
She's just involved in so many of these. Sometimes if it's a public appearance that needs to be there, she's there.
If there needs to be a little nudging behind the scenes, she's there.
Because there are few people who don't know Rhona, because of how well she works with others.
You're really going to be missed here.
Rhona has been a significant contributor to the forward focus of this college, and she's served during some very difficult times.
And you earned your stripes during those periods.
And it's just been a pleasure. I served as vice chair with Rhona when she was chair one other time,
and she was a great mentor during that time period. [laughs]
I just have so much appreciation and respect for her. I got to watch her in action,
at a retreat that we had, and walked away thinking, wow! She's a strategist. She's extremely brilliant,
but has a way of making you feel very connected to her. And I told her I'm not letting her go. She may
be leaving, but I will be calling her. I'll be looking forward to those notes if she's sending them.
And as I've told her, she's left some pretty tough stilettos for me to fill. [laughter] And I'm not even going to try to fill them.
I wore flats today. [laughter] So thank you so much.
It's going to be hard to replace you, and Rekah will certainly do a great job of that.
But you've really been a great trustee to work with, and I could always trust you
in confidence and talk to you about things when needed to.
So we're going to miss you as a trustee, but we know you're not very far away.
"I've learned that people will forget what you've said, people will forget what you did,
but people will never forget how you made them feel." And I think that really describes you, and thank you.
[off-screen] Rhona: That's one of my favorite quotes. Thank you so much. [applause]
I'm so privileged to have served Clark College and our community, so thank you so much. [applause]
So we don't want to hear all this cougar crap all the time. [laughter]
I want the penguin stuff to still be in the forefront.
Yeah, I'm going to bring this into the office. That'll get them. [laughter]
Well, that was kind of the intent. [laughter]
