Should I get one or two hearing aids?
If you have hearing loss that makes you a candidate for bilateral hearing aids, it is
always best to be fitted with 2. Better understanding of speech. Wearing two
hearing aids helps your brain focus on the conversation you want to hear.
Better understanding in group and noisy situations. Better ability to tell the direction of sound.
This is called localization. Better sound quality. People don’t wear
monocles anymore, because vision is better with two eyes. The same is true for hearing.
Research studies of patients with hearing loss in both ears demonstrated that patients
fit with bilateral hearing aids understood better than people fit with just one.
