Alright.
Why am I redesigning my website?
Why that's a very easy question to answer.
My website is Super Old!
How old is my website?
Well my website is a dinosour by web standards, so that basically means my website is 5 years old.
Welp, literally my website is 5 years old.
So a 5 year old web site is like a 30 to 40 year old car.
It's not something that is currently up to standards and with (you know) modern technologies,
5 years is big difference.
So what did I do in the last 5 years?
I for 1, learned how to do responsive design.
Responsive design is extremely important to modern web development and any website lacking any
in responsive design, well you're just going to be totally behind the times and you've
definitely just miss the ball.
Number 2: Ui/Ux (User Interface/User Experience) that has been a huge skill that I have learned
and have improved upon since I've finally just understood it, appreciate it and seen it in action.
My background is currently is design, I have a bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, so
with Ui/Ux I use that to the fullest and I thourghly understand it now.
I have a huge appreciation for Ui/Ux, like it's ridiculous, I thought I knew how to design
websites because I knew how to design.
Well, as a graphic designer, I actually I legitimately had the skills, but as a web
developer my skills were complete and utter garbage as far as Usability is concerned.
So after like repetition, after repetition, after repetition, after repetition, after
repetition, I've finally got it.
I've finally understood.
I've finally banged my head against the wall like a million and a half times and put in
my 10,000 hours in learning and enhancing my skills in my career path.
And you know, I understand how to make a website that usable, that's enjoyable to use, that
people can search and find what they're looking for, where they want it, when they want it.
So, at this current point in time I plan on developing a website as best that I can and
instead of just slapping a website together, "Similar" to what I did at the time in 2012
because I desperately wanted to leave my old job because back then they were not doing
what they needed to do as far as payment was concerned.
So in the year 2017 Adrian Davis is redesigning AdrianDavis.net and hey I'm happy that you
are following along for the journey.
I'm doing to document this step by step by step from all of my concepts, ideations, the
process, what I figure is what's best for a design for a website, such as my personal
branding.
And what I'm going to do is just (you know) share all of the things that frustrate me,
as far as my descisions to use one set of tags instead of the other, the pros and cons
and like I've said before, I'm going to document every single thing!
So keep in touch, follow me on AdrianDavis.net.
