BLANCO faucets are legendary for their quality, so to extend the life
of your BLANCO faucet
we'd like to demonstrate how easy it is to install a new faucet disc cartridge.
The cartridge controls flow and temperature, and replacing the part can
extend the life of your faucet for years to come. Before you take apart the
faucet, make sure you have the right replacement parts.
BLANCO will ship you a new ceramic disk cartridge
when you call our eight hundred-number.
Be sure to know your faucet model
So long as the faucet isn't otherwise damaged, damage
we'll offer you these replacement parts at no charge.
To make the project easier,
be sure you have all the tools needed in advance of getting started
All tools are available at local hardware stores if needed.
Here's what you'll need.
An Allen key,
a 2.5 millimeter wrench,
an adjustable wrench,
and/or channel lock pliers,
rubber strap wrench, razor blade, and needlenose pliers.
Make sure to shut off the water supply and purpose trainer in the sink to catch
anything that may drop.
Shut the water off by closing the valves underneath the sink. To close, turn each
clockwise until it stops.
to begin, locate and remove the button from the lever handle using your
fingernail or a razor blade.
This is a plastic button with red/hot and blue/cold indicators. Or your model
may have a button the same finish as your faucet.
If you don't see a button on the handle there will be an the opening on the back
side of the handle in order to access the set screw. using the
2.5 millimeter allen keys, turn the set screw inside the lever, counterclockwise
one full rotation.
Remove the lever from the stem of the cartridge.
Make note of how each part is in position and stack on the counter in order.
Remove the cap.
Depending on your model of faucet, this is done by turning the cap
counterclockwise with your hand, a rubber strap wrench or a tool provided.
On other models, use needlenose pliers by placing the jaws of the pliers
in the slots in the cap and turn counterclockwise.
Depending on your model faucet
you'll now need to remove the brass retainer nut that holds in the cartridge.
This is done
by using an adjustable wrench or channel lock pliers
Remove the cartridge and be sure that the old "O" rings are removed as well.
New "O" rings will be included with your new cartridge. new parks
Install the new cartridge with 2 locating tabs inserted into the openings.
Now reverse your steps to reassemble the faucet.
And if you took pictures along the way with your cellphone, this is when they
could prove helpful.
Screw on the brass retainer nut if applicable to your model and put back the
cap, turning it clockwise to secure.
Put the lever back on the cartridge stem and turn the set screw inside
the lever clockwise,
one full rotation,
with a 2.5mm
allen wrench.
and be sure that you don't over-tighten. tighter
And now you can test your work by turning the water back on.
Check for leaks.
At this point you're all set and your faucet should be functioning normally,
and you did it yourself!
You've just extended the life of your BLANCO faucet. Congratulations!
