Hi and welcome to the second episode of "Hot Collectibles"!
Most of the new stuff that I'll show you in this second episode comes from the San Diego Comic-Con, opened from July 18 to July 21 in San Diego, obviously!
A lot of new stuff!
Let's start with Hot Toys that presented a lot of new figures, including the 1966 tv series Batman & Robin and even the Batmobile!
Here we can see the 1/4 scale "The Dark Knight Rises" Batman figure, actually it's been presented before, an impressive product anyway!
A new product is the cage for the Batsuit.
One of the SDCC exclusives! Evil Superman, very interesting. It's a re-deco of the Christopher Reeve Superman previously released.
This is an italian website, I take this chance to suggest you some action figures news websites, it's called Itakon.it, an italian site, a true excellence in the action figure world regarding the italian nation.
Put it in your favourites and visit often!
Here we can see Jor-El from "Man of Steel", Superman from "Man of Steel".
As you can see, I'm using a new format, a bit blogger style, then I'll put all the links in the info box so you can enjoy the galleries properly!
Again Superman, Evil Superman...General Zod, that has been revealed at the Ani-Com, at the end of July, a couple of days ago.
Let's see some of the new things, like I said, the '66 Batman & Robin from the live action series...
...battle damaged T-800, very interesting, even if I think it's a bit too pricey, $315 for a 1/6 scale figure, it's true that he comes with this interesting accessory that is the T-1000 which is, if not an action figure, a full size statue itself.
Let's go ahead quickly...
Predators, another strong licence of Hot Toys.
This is a news! Die-cast Robocop! The first die-cast Robocop! Very nice! Really fantastic! With interchangeable face plates...
...the chair where Robocop is feeded and repaired. Very interesting!
It comes with battle damaged parts, but Hot Toys has already announced that a battle damaged Robocop will be released and it will come with the Paul Weller headsculpt, the actor who played Robocop, which has finally sold his rights!
The ED-209, it could not be missing! Also very interesting!
Here you can see the teaser poster for the battle damaged Robocop, with the Alex Murphy face.
Another interesting novelty! The Bat from "The Dark Knight Rises", that is 1/12 scaled, not 1/6. It's going to be in scale with the Movie Masters, that makes it even more interesting to me! It will come with the bomb and a 6" articulated Batman figure!
This is the chance to have a 6" articulated Batman figure by Hot Toys!
The Batmobile, nothing new...
Part 2, Tonto from The Lone Ranger which I don't care about, even if I must say it's very well done!
This is interesting instead, the Chitauri from "The Avengers". Very nice painting, really impressive! Really nice!
A new line of busts from "Iron Man 3", 1/6 scale, along with a lot of new armors: here we can see Gemini, the space armor...
...Igor, huge, I think it's going to be die-cast so it's going to be very expensive! (actually not, it will be made out of plastic!) Very nicely done obviously, as you will see from the pictures.
And the Silver Centurion that you all know I love! I'm very tempted to buy it! Actually, a couple of days ago it's been fully revealed and it's going to come with battle damaged pieces: a chest piece and an extra head with Tony Stark's face.
I believe it's going to be pretty expensive, we'll see!
Heartbreaker, very nice as well! These are all going to be made out of plastic, not die-cast.
Red Snapper has been announced before, Power Pose, a new line from Hot Toys that will feature figures with limited articulation. A middle way between action figures and statues.
Iron Patriot, that is going to be die-cast. Very nice, I must say the metal has a very nice look, as we've seen with Robocop. War Machine, die-cast as well.
And Mark 42, also die-cast!
I'm going ahead quickly because these have already been announced time ago!
Mandarin, a novelty, very nicely done, very nice the tunic.
Very interesting...
...except for the fact that...SPOILER! If you haven't seen "Iron Man 3", close the video or go forward!
...that is NOT the Mandarin, as you know! But that is another story!
Whiplash! Another new figure! Interesting! From "Iron Man 2".
I'm not adding a lot of informations because most of the prices and release dates have to be determined yet!
That's it for Hot Toys! Let's see if I forgot something...
I would go ahead with NECA..no, let's follow the order, I want to show you the new stuff from Playmates, that is doing great things with the Ninja Turtles.
This video is going to be very long! 8 minutes and I've talked about Hot Toys only!
Playmates announced, for the Classic Collection line, a reissue of the old vintage Ninja Turtles figures (including the Turtle Van), in a slightly re-styled packaging, sculpt and accessories are going to be the same.
And the big announcement is a wave of figures from the 1990 movie! From the '90s movies! Here we can see Leonardo!
Very nicely done! 7" scaled, like the ones I already bought! Very massive! Very articulated!
This is a must-have for me! I love those '90s Ninja Turtles movies, I remember I was crazy for the turtles costumes!
For the new movie they're going to use the CGI, we'll see the result! The costumes from the '90s movies were absolutely fantastic!
That's it for Playmates, obviously a lot of new toys and figures from the new TMNT animated series, but nothing relevant.
I have several pages here among my favourites...let's see if I can show you something interesting...
Let's go ahead with Mattel! Let's move from a positive to a very negative thing! Mattel revealed a lot of new figures, but one particular thing almost gave me the creeps! It's the Ecto-1 from the Ghostbusters line.
A toyline that was given for dead, that instead has been resurrected...
The Movie Masters Ecto-1, 6" scaled, for 6" figures.
Check out the price for this car: $215 for the 6" Ecto-1!!! It's going to feature lights and sounds, anything you want, but it's almost the price for an Hot Toys! Absolutely crazy!
In addition, Mattel is taking the bad habit to make these pre-orders and set a goal, a minimum of pre-orders, an absurd thing in my opinion: if the goal is not hit, the toy will not be produced!
If the goal will be hit, they will also produce these Ghostbusters figures with removable proton pack, proton stream and logo base. If you've seen my collection video, you know my point of view.
You know I think this is the way these figures were supposed to be from the beginning! Base, removable proton pack, proton stream and some extra accessory: a ghost, the trap, the PKE meter etc...
Mattel is a big disappointment! They also revealed a new 4" line that might be interesting, featuring characters from the DC Universe.
The first wave of 6 figures will be dedicated to the Batman video games: Arkham City and Arkham Origins which will be released soon! Here you can glimpse something: "Arkham Origins" Bane, "Arkham City" Mister Freeze...
This line is going to feature also figures from the '90s Batman movies, here we can see the first Tim Burton Batman. One disappointing thing is, in my opinion, the scale: a movie figure in the 4" scale can't be properly detailed.
...I would have preferred a 6" scale. Here we can see a digital sculpt, very primitive. Mattel wanted to show something and they showed this digital sculpt.
I'm a bit disappointed by the scale, but we'll see!
Now I want to show you NECA's stuff, I remind you that I'll put all the links in the info box.
Not a lot of new things announced, we have this 1/4 scale battle damaged Iron Man, 18" tall, with the Tony Stark headsculpt. Very well done, not much on the headsculpt, but on the battle damaged work, at least the prototype.
Just a couple of other news, aside the already announced 1/4 scale Adam West and Michael Keaton Batman, in addition to the 1/4 scale battle damaged Iron Man which is very interesting, NECA will realease the Thor action figure, 1/4 scale, 18" inches tall and more, but he's going to feature the costume from "Thor: The Dark World".
It's a bit weird, because they're making the Avengers, they already made Captain America and Iron Man from "The Avengers" so I was expecting a Thor with the "Avengers" costume, instead the prototype shows a Thor with the "Dark World" costume.
It's very well done, the Chris Hemsworth headsculpt is very detailed, the cape is real cloth, it's really very well done! In the meantime, you can hear the bricklayers that are working, things that happen!
Obviously the Predators, Aliens, Gremlins lines will go on, nothing special to show you, except this Termal Vision Dutch which is clearly a repaint of Dutch, but it's very neat. I might buy it! Very peculiar as action figure!
I'm going to conclude this video with two action figures that haven't been announced at SDCC, and they are this Sub Zero figure, I found on the Itakon website...
...I was forgetting! I suggest you some other website: this is called CoolToyReview! They make very nice photos, as you can see! Very high definition! An american website, canadian I believe.
And another site that I always visit is Toy News International, as for the news this is the top of the top, a very nicely done website that I visit several times a day!
Returning on the Sub-zero figure, it's 1/6 scale, like Hot Toys figures. It should cost around 100 euro (about 125 USD) so a very interesting price! Made by Worldbox, a brand famous for the baby versions of Bank Robber Joker, Batman and Iron Man.
A very well done figure! The only issue I noticed is the head that is a bit too big, but it's a prototype anyway! It seems very well done! Accessories really impressed me! It comes with tons of accessories: severed body parts, bloody sword...
...this is an accessory that I believe it's fantastic! It's a bloody arch, you can also see it here on the top right, this arch will allow you, along with the sword, to have Sub-zero halving his opponent with the sword!
You can see it here! A very ingenious accessory that really caught my attention!
Another action figure announced not at SDD, but at Ani-Com 2013, it's the Hot Toys Eric Draven "The Crow" action figure!
It seems very well done, there's a couple of issues, the frontal teeth are a bit big, the hair is a bit too short, but it's still a prototype! Overall I must say the scupt is very satisfying!
Accessories: the guitar, the crow bird, several hands. It's an interesting figure!
I believe I've said everything, obviously I had to make a selection, otherwise this video would have last too much!
I showed you the most "juicy" things, the most interesting things!
That's it! I think I said everything...more or less.
The Kick-*** figures, all NECA figures are wonderful, then it depends on the license, if you're interested or not in that license.
Here you can see Robocop and the Ed-209 by NECA, really nice!
Prometheus, Pacific Rim etc...I showed you the most interesting from my point of view, the ones that caught my attention. I skipped the DC Collectible that actually haven't revealed a lot...
...Play Arts Kai, instead, revealed a lot of new stuff, but, as you know, I don't like those figures very much. I point out just the Robocop from Play Arts Kai, let me show you quickly, it's very interesting!
They revealed a lot of new figures...Joker from "The Dark Knight", but it was actually previously revealed (it's already in stores!), "Man of Steel", "Aliens"...
Here it is! Robocop! Not sure you can see it! I'll put the links in the info box and you'll enjoy all these nice galleries, specially the ones by Itakon.
That being said, I hope you enjoy these videos, let me know in the comments if you've seen something interesting that I missed, in your opinion. And that being said, I'll see you on the next video! BYE!
