Welcome to the tutorial on issues and controversies a database that offers
comprehensive analysis on topics in today's news. Issues and controversies is
a great place to start your research as is it offers an overview of current issues
with reliable statistics. Every major article includes a bibliography of
sources used.
In order to use Issuses and Controversies start at the libraries home page at
udayton.edu/libraries.
Click on the databases tab and then the letter 'I' for Issues in Controversies.
Scroll down until you find it.
If you're off campus, you may be prompted to log in using your username and
password.
First notice the issues in the headline section, Which might give you an idea for a
paper topic. You can also browse an alphabetical list of topics in case you already
have one in mind.
For now, let's use the search function for a paper on social networking and privacy.
We can enter in our keywords social networking and privacy and click the go
button.
On the search results page, you can easily sort by date so the most recent
is on top.
But right away, I notice there is an entire report on social networking and privacy,
as well as a follow up report
which focuses on google.

and the full text of the article shows up right here.
Up top, we see a table of contents and also ways you can keep track of this
article:
print, email, and save.
