Hello. I'm Iñigo Alonso and today I'm going to show you how I made a ring light
like this one.
[Music]
First of all, maybe it is interesting to show you why I made it, what is it
useful for, what can you get out of a device like this.

The most important part in the construction comes from the Glänsa
chandelier by Ikea, that is originaly priced at about 40€ and that I found in
the sales section for 4.90€. So it was a bargain, I guess the are running out of
it, so hurry up if you want to get one.
The chandelier came in different sizes, I chose the biggest one (about 27 inches in
diameter), so I could get as many lights as possible in it.
Talking about lights, the next part in importance is the set of lightbulbs.
I chose 40W incandescent lightbulbs.
They are incandescent and not CFL or LEDs
because I'm planning to add a potentiometer
for dimming the light.
And for that the best ones are the traditional incandescent bulbs.
The sockets are the most simple ones I could find. I'm going to show you,
the have to parts, so you can get the cables inside.
They have and exterior part where the lightbulb is attached, and another one for
the cables to get in, that you can take off to put the cables in.
And attach them to the connectors.

Well, that was all. I hope you enjoyed it, and that if you fell encouraged you can
make a similar one or even a better one. Thank you very much for watching
and see you next time.
